I'm at 2.5 and I believe I could be tweaked but that's about it. Last visit I opted for no fill since I was doing so well. I have a 10 cc band

LOL, Well I weighed a boulder, but I'm slowly getting there. Just kidding. I love this site:)))) -
Sounds like they have confidence, so relax. They go through this alot more than we do:)

I would think they won't do the surgery without insurance approval unless you have cash to pay for it or unless they have already talked to you about a financial arrangement.

I had approval in 3 days after my surgeons office got my letter from my pcp and surgery 2 weeks later. Relax, it'll happen. Just remember the surgeons office is masters at dealing with the insurance on this and they don't make any money until they do the surgery. As for the psych exam....piece of cake. My surgeon told me this is just a formality that he wished he could get rid of but unfortunately the insurance companies want it. It was a total waste of time but it satisified the rules.

37 lbs in 4 months is a very healthy weight loss. Slower is better and my surgeon only recommends 4 to 5 lbs a month once you get into onderland. I say just keep doing what you are doing and enjoy the nice slow ride.

I saw my doc on Monday thinking I would get a fill. Not sure how I feel about it, but weight loss is acceptable and I had the option of to fill or not to fill and chose not to cuz I felt I needed to be following more of the rules. Fills won't stop you from cheating and eating around the band and you certainly don't want to be too tight.

Welcome aboard. You will learn a lot here

Congrats

Just set yourself some small goals and work on them. Don't compare yourself to others, just keep track of your progress. We got this!

Lol. I was just the opposite. I felt so guilty that my husband was sneaking around eating that I told him to bring it out in the open. He'd been so paranoid about his 30 lbs excess weight that I was afraid while I was losing, he'd actually gain. End results, I'm losing and he's lost 27 of his 30 lbs by trying to eat like I do. We both win.

Hey ladies. From Texarkana as well. I have fill number 3 tomorrow and I'm so excited to hopefully get a little closer to green. Dr Hekier did my surgery, but I see Dr Keilin for my fills. -
Anybody else notice tighter band after sleeping on back?
SandyM replied to MammaJamma42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok so if you use the blood in the stomach lining theory I would guess that if you eat too close to bedtime there would be more blood gathered in that vicinity aiding with digestion. So maybe try to give yourself an earlier cutoff for eating and see if that helps. And I've read to really restrict your carbs before bedtime -
I understand that weather change can affect it. Do you wake it up with something hot in the morning?

20 days till Surgery and Scared!
SandyM replied to MACbabyxo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had lap band with plication and hernia repair on Friday and was back to work on Monday. Not sure it was because of all I had done or what but it was not my best decision. I'm a home health nurse and drive a honda civic which is pretty low to the ground. If I did it over, I would have taken 2 more days. I was starting to feel more normal by day 5. -

I'm not saying you won't be hungry during the preop phase, but honestly I wasn't. I had to do some convincing to keep hubby from becoming a closet eater. He was hesitant to eat in front of me. But I truly wasn't bothered by it. You will do fine. As for complications, they can happen to anybody, but odds are pretty slim. Just keep your focus on the prize ahead. It is just a tool not a solution, but it has been very helpful to me and lots others. -
Sorry. Shortcuts on phone lol. Way to go girl!!!

Where are you to go girl.

Way to go. Now you get to look forward to it not fitting you again, just in the other direction. -
Hey t-ray. You've come to the right place. Congratulations on your new band and you'll learn a whole lot here. You'll hear some negative and lots of positive. If you have a question, just ask. There's lots of OLD TIMERS here (not me yet, lol) that will have some good advice for you.

Thats probably something you'll want to keep track of so you can have some input when they are putting it in. My first fill was 2cc and my 2nd was 1/2. I think my surgeon will continue with 1/2 for a while. I'll know after monday I guess. I just think it would be pretty easy to over do you at 2 cc per fill.

Make yourself a weight chart and put it on the wall whereever you keep your scales. Weigh once a week and record it. If you have the urge to weigh, just look at your weight chart instead and be like a little kid at christmas until its time to weigh again. That has worked for me.

How bad are gas pains?
SandyM replied to SpartanPrincess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my gas pains were very short lived. I have a friend who says she still gets them, but I don't
