So, yesterday hubby screwed my workout up so, I had just the arm twist on him to make him ride bicycles with me today. Bear in mind I haven't ridden in a month due to tailbone injuries, so you would think I would start out slowly. But, NOOOOOooooo. I don't do anything slowly. We ended up doing a route that I've been trying to talk him into riding for months. Granted it was only 7 miles, but turns out the last mile was uphill. Of course it was. OMG! I wanted to stop so bad, but my pride wouldn't let me. After-all it was my idea. Plus we didn't have any other way back to our vehicle. Poor guy, I thought I'd lose him. Heck I thought I was gonna lose me. Any way, just wanted to share what a dufus I am. I did have a gynormous feeling of accomplishment, rubbery legs, sore tailbone and all.

I won't lie. I fight head hunger as much as the next guy or gal. I more than occasionally give in. Well, last night, after going to bed, my mind drifted to the pantry where the "treats" I keep for the grandkids dwell. The fat little devil on my left shoulder told me it would be ok to have one. The skinny little angel on my right one told me what a fool I would be, after all, yesterday was my fast day and I did so well. These two little mini-me's kept me awake for well over an hour arguing about the pros and cons of treating myself. It's after midnight, so it's no longer your fast day. Yeah, but its solid carbs and will make you crave more. Yeah, but who cares, you had your fast day....Anyway, finally I managed to drift off to sleep. About an hour later, I was awake again and they resumed their argument. Those zebra cakes were calling me. I finally did manage to get to sleep and made it to the morning without giving in. But when I awoke, one of my Chihuahuas was missing and I had a horrible taste in my mouth. Oh.....he was just under the covers . Cheers to fighting the demons off one more night.

Yeah, I'm a bad influence. They eat healthy at home, that's why they love coming to my house. We limit how many treats they can have just not the nutritional value

Yeah, I think the snacks may have to be locked away. Just knowing they were there kept me up last night again...get this...16 assorted pastries (ranging between 500-800 calories each...from SAMs club.). It's gonna take awhile for those things to disappear. This may actually be good for me.......if I can stay strong. Maybe thats what mama meant when she said "what don't kill you will make you strong". I feel like a druggy drying out sometimes.

Congrats. It'll be a nice journey, especially after you've had a few fills.

Thanks yall, I have to quit shopping hungry. The grandkids treats are way too tempting.

Girl. Set yourself some small goals and work toward them. They don't have to be weight goals, they can be size, exercise whatever fits your needs. Those small goals will get you to the big ones.

I'm finding it to be much better too -
Lots of folks with sudden wt loss lose their gall ladders. As stated above, mention your pain to your doctor

Best decision ever......down almost 100 pounds!

I agree with best decision for me too. Way to go -
I know how you feel. I reached goal now my mind wants to tell my body, that I've achieved what I set out to and now I can stop. Problem is, if I stop, I'll slip back into the old habits. What I did when I was at the point you are (almst there ) I put small goals in place and worked hard to reach them. Set 5 pound goals, size goals, exercise goals etc and put everything into those goals. You'll be there before you know it. Don't let your guard down yet.

Way to go. It does keep getting better. I want to run so bad, my knees tell me no and since I don't want to be sprawled out in public, I obey.

I felt much better by day 6 and felt pretty good by 2 weeks. Give yourself the healing time, drink plenty of fluids and avoid giving in to the hunger and eating real food until your surgeon gives you the green light. Also remember, the band is virtually empty at this time therefore you aren't getting the full benefit yet. Once you've had a few fills, you will see more benefits. I have no regrets, but I will tell you the first 3 or 4 days, I had many.

Do you still have your gallbladder?

6 weeks post op-6 lbs down plication with band, band at zero

Don't know about the hole thing, but goldfish and cocacola don't have any nutritional value. -
I believe the biggest reason to have the band deflated during pregnancy is due to risk of vomiting. It's very possible to get proper nutrition with fully inflated band.

Just filled to 8.5 cc, still waiting to feel adequate restriction?
SandyM replied to Dan175's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I asked my doc once about the gulping liquids thingy and she said that has nothing to do with the band.. Liquids should go right down. You may have your expectation set kinda high. Are you losing? Are you getting satisfied soon enough? Are you able to go 4 hours between meals? Remember, band won't affect head hunger. -
LapBand-friendly fast food (don't judge me!)

Starting 5:2 and no scale this week
SandyM replied to JustWatchMe's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just saw this. So my response is based on Dr Varadys study and her research on the alternate day dieting and it shows that the metabolic advantage to the alternate day dieting is from the weight loss itself. Since I'm on maintenance, that's not an issue. For maintenance on the every other day diet, I could also use the everyother day diet recommendation and increase my calories on my "fast days". I've just chosen to continue the 5:2 cuz it works for me. There are lots of variations of this diet and like you, I choose not to mess with my weekends with the diet. Yesteday, I did fast til 6pm and had supper and was fine. I may try that again and see how I like it. She does say on the everyother day diet, it takes about 10 days to adjust to it. I've been doing the 5:2 for about a month. Hubby is doing 1000 calories those days (mostly cuz I can't get him to count calories.) But it seems to be helping him maintain his weight loss pretty good. -

I have my coffee on all days, lol. As for soup and salad, I would probably try for a little more Protein myself, but try it your way, as long as its healthy.
