I agree. I was informed by someone I don't see very often that I looked good and she observed my wt loss. Her question "wow, you've lost wt, haven't you? My response. "A little". Made me feel great, though I didn't like the public fuss. I'm embracing it more. I think my brain is catching up. -
. Wow. He must be giving really small fills. I'm 11 months out and am every 5-6 weeks. Mine told me last visit that we are going to start ever 3 months soon. I think he is listening to my tone and for me to basically say "I got this"

I did that intentionally with a pair of jeans I wanted. Put them on and was almost able to button them and bought them anyway. They became my Saturday Try-on pants. I can wear them now. My daughter told me they made my but look cute. I haven't heard that in ages. -
How Do I Deal With The Gas In My Core After Lap Band Surgery?
SandyM replied to JustBrian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never took the pain meds. They just constipated me and make things worse. I just looked at the pain as temporary and part of the healing process. -
. Ok, I agree that sometimes people know a lot and can make pretty good guesses. I was an ICU nurse for many years, and sometimes I'm hearing things on this forum that sound more cardiac than lapband. Folks say call your surgeon and I'm thinking go to ER. Someone came on with a festering wound and said I did too much and popped stitches. I saw the picture and recognized infection immediately, while some who claim to be nurses were saying put a bandaid over it, it'll heal. So, if we listen to everyone here who claims to have the answers, we may not get the answers we need.

So, now, I might search out hotels "without the breakfast". You pay more for these hotels and if you have a way of having your own breakfast, you get the best of both worlds.
-
Sounds good. I might try that. Also, a pinch of powdered sugar might taste better than granulated if you had it.
-
You are so right. I've given them up totally. They are what I use to search for and now totally avoid.

Make it Greek yogurt so you get your proteins. I personally like Dannon lite & fit. Another thing is get your measurements. Sometimes they will give you inspiration when the scales aren't moving. Especially if you are exercising. I agree, this site has been a blessing for me too.

I throw away a lot of food since the surgery. I hate left overs. I just figured its worth the cost. If I weren't throwing it away, I'd be eating it and I'd be huge. Either way, I'd be spending the money, just happier this way. I like the yogurt idea. Something I might try. Just make sure I always get a room with microwave and fridge and I can have yogurt and bacon.

I too would advise, set small goals. A lot of folks set out with the end goal in their heads and get overwhelmed and discouraged. If you set small goals the big ones will take care of themselves

Lol. I'm going to stop procrastinating. Tomorrow.

Nurses cannot and should not diagnose. As said there are good nurses and bad nurses. No one should present themselves as someone they are not but everyone should remember we are on the net and don't know who people are. Like I use to tell my son when he was young and iming the "hotties". How do you know you're not iming a hairy old fat prisoner? You don't. I know a lot of nurses who have been in the field along time that I'd still hate to open my eyes from a coma and find at my bedside. I know some doctors too. So schooling is just that. Training, experience and common sense plays a much bigger role. All the school in the world won't give you that. As for cnas having ability to diagnose...no. But they can have experience, training and common sense. Still if they are really smart they won't try to pass themselves off as something they are not. Someone who knows can always pick it out and it just makes them look bad. Another point here, I'm a nurse and I believe a very good one. How much do I know about what goes on here? Same as the rest of you. I can only vouch for my research and personal experiences. Just sayin'

Kisspooh, I agree that you should consider going to your surgeon and getting fills. This is still salvageable.

The EAS and Premier are both good. I still use them some just to make sure I get my Protein in and for a quick Breakfast at times.
-
I was at a stall and decided to do a week of almost solid Protein. I dropped 2 lbs immediately. Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in and I'll know more then exactly how much.

I've been a nurse since Noah built his arc and I can just say this form of snobbery is what we like to refer to as RNitis. SERIOUSLY????? As stated, its still the medical field.

New to this journey
SandyM replied to SouthernPeach's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Talk to the insurance handlers at your WLS clinic. They will be able to tell you what the insurance company is expecting. Mine told me that they use the very first weight. They said the insurance company actually expects you to lose some as this shows your committment. I have to admit I was nervous about it right up the the time I was approved though. So, check with them, they have alot of experience with this. -
Fiddleman, I just hope I'm as successful in the refining stage as you seem to be. We've all lost and gained wt back for years and years. Hopefully, I've developed the right tools to help not to gain back.

Ha! be careful. I was trying to hit the quote button, hit the wrong key and my computer froze up and......I think I reported somebody. Usually if I don't like what I'm reading, I just move on.

Lol, there was one ranting about complaining and whining. Isnt that what ranting is anyway.

You know what AA and NA members say. They are not reformed, they are recovering. This food addiction will never totally go away, it will always be our demon. The goal is to have as much control of our lives as we can so they don't.

Quick & Simple but still feels like a meal...

That would be a good quick recipe if you can tolerate tortillas.
