  1. Very likely dehydration. I understand your tired of liquids. But, keep something going in constantly. You'll feel better soon.

    Feeling Yucky

The main goal here is to keep your nausea under control so you can keep getting your fluids in. Staying hydrated is #1 on the list.

    Feeling Yucky

I do prenatal nursing and we have our pregnant moms take unisom at night. This might help you though you may have to crush it to get it down. Also some ginger tea might help with the nausea.

    Its really working!

I use MFP and it records my sugars and carbs and I preplan my day to make sure I avoid them. I'm down to losing about 1/2 lbs a month and this could be discouraging if I let it be. Truth is, I'm pretty happy with how I look and feel, so the 1/2 lb a month is just icing on the cake. Keep it up. You'll reach goal before you know it.

    4 days post op

Hang in there. Keep up the walking and drink, drink, drink. You're doing great.
  6. don't get discouraged. As Kil724 pointed out its a diet until you start feeling restriction. Its spring, take advantage of it if you can and burn off some calories. Start increasing your Protein and decreasing your carbs and fats. If you don't have a fitness app, find one that suits you. Lose it is good and so is MFP. Don't give up. Remember the band is a tool and it will not do all of the work anyway, you are going to have to do some on your own. Might as well start now. Keep us posted on how you are doing.
  7. Things do tend to slow down after surgery. I advise drink plenty of Water, I use miralax in my coffee each am as long as there is a hint of a problem. Some recommend stool softners, but they just tend to gas me up. Some use milk of magnesia. My surgeon had me start taking a magnesium tab with my Vitamins each morning. You just have to learn what works best for you.
  8. Technically speaking we don't have a pouch. Our goal is to give our food time to go through the band between bites
  9. I agree. Doc shouldn't fill you anyway if youre having these symptoms.

    Am i eating to slow

You are supposed to try to eat for 20-30 minutes. If it takes longer than that, you are done, by then you are grazing. This is what my surgeon says, but yours may say different.

In need of a buddy :)

Martha, thing to remember here is this is your journey. You will travel it your way. Their noncompliance isn't yours. Everybody keeps talking about band rules....really isn't any such a thing. Band diet....not really. Your surgeon will set guidelines. You will figure out what works for you. My goal here is to be able to have control with the help of my band. If I want a cheeseburger I have a small one. I don't have the fries but if my grandson has fries and I want one, I take one. It's only a diet until you get control.

    First day post surgery

First week out I had no problems with liquid. Didn't really want the shakes guess cuz I had them for 2 weeks preop. Answer to question...you will prolly sip it slowly but you should be able to get the whole thing down. Liquids won't hesitate in the band even once you're green.

Thank you for a small thing :)

Yeah, I'm not sure I remember seeing it til I loaded google chrome last night.
  15. Keep it up girl. I agree that pictures are a very good motivator. Keep posting them.

    Barrett's Esophagus

My biggest concern here is that I hear that sleevers have alot of indigestion. I would think that this would make your problem worse. I'd talk to a GI doc if I were you.
  17. Good job. I did well without pain meds. I took a dose the first night just to make sure I didn't wake up hurting, after that none. The gas is the biggest issue, but walk it off. Take it nice and slow. You'll get there. The first week is the hardest.
  18. You'll do great. We'll be here when you wake up:)

My batwings... (I want these babies to go away)

Lol. I am definitely headed in the whale-wings direction... So what does tons and tons of hard work mean? I'm not scared of hard work. I take Biotin and drink add much Water as I possibly can. But no luck on the genes. Go to youtube and look up Tracy Campolis arm workout with small weights.

I agree that expecting 8 lbs a month is a little steep. Also , is there someone who can give you a little break for some you time? You are going to burn yourself out.
