I admit that obesity is on the rise everywhere, but more govenment nosiness isn't going to fix it. Sorry, I just don't want the government telling me what to buy, what to eat and where to spend the little bit of money they haven't already snatched out of my paycheck.

I love it.

I think my surgeon is much like yours. I dream of he green Zone days. I get 0.5 ml each full if I'm lucky. I think I've had 4 fills since January. I think I'm getting there but not quite yet... Staying hopeful And you will. My surgeon is the same way. I have turned down fills for the last 8 months, because I've been able to manage, but I'm scheduled for one toward the end of the month. I have a hard time getting in to my surgeon cuz he only does fills 2 days a week and one of those days is my hard day at work. So, don't get frustrated, it'll happen.

Thin fluids should go through your band rather quickly. If it don't, you're too tight whether it be swelling or too much fluid

Maybe it's just that you are no longer in denial. 70 lbs is wonderful and those sizes will shrink faster than you know.

HAD MY BAND+Gastric Plication Weight Loss Surgery YESTERDAY
SandyM replied to manofsize's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Lol, at time I had surgery I was a home health nurse. Day 3 I went back to work, yes climbing in and out of a tiny honda civic all day. Whew! I wouldn't relive that day or the next. But, believe it or not you will be able to drive. -
To fill, or not fill.... that is question...
SandyM replied to labwalker's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Definitely a timely topic. I scheduled a fill just this morning for the 24th. I haven't had one since November. I've debated a fill for awhile and kept deferring cuz I didn't want to risk being too tight, but I'm thinking more and more that it's time. -
I can feel the port easily, I can even feel the tubing from the port out a few inches.

I w plus just ask the surgeon. I can't imagine that he only wants you to eat 2 meals per day

HAD MY BAND+Gastric Plication Weight Loss Surgery YESTERDAY
SandyM replied to manofsize's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Yes, the first few days I felt like I got hit by a mack truck. I even had regrets. It does pass and by day 6 you will feel pretty good. It is a gradual thing and each day is better. -
What exactly is clear broth? And some other stuff
SandyM replied to Bruce120's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Can you have other clears? Jello, sf popsycles, apple or grape juice? I have tried the slimfast Protein and they are good, but too much sugar. I used the Premier Protein from Sams club. low carb and sugar. I still buy them occasionally when I just want something as a backup. -
Well, you're taking the right step getting back into the gym. You have do something repetitively to form a habit and forming a habit to go to the gym is what you'll need to do. Does your fiancee use your gym? maybe you can make it a routine for the two of you. Hubby and I do, though we each do our own thing once we get there. Recently I've taken up cycling and love that. I would consider seeing the surgeon, maybe it is time for a fill. It's easy to get complacent and go back to the old ways. I almost bought a candy bar last night. A candy bar wouldn't have been the end of the world, but it would have opened the door I'm trying to close on the old me and what helped to make me fat. I bought a peach instead and convinced myself that it tasted better than the candy bar. I at least was guilt free.

When was your last fill. Sounds like you need one if you're hungy when you wake up. Are you tracking what you eat. I find if I don't track, I don't notice things I eat that really add up. WW's use to call them the BLTs (bites, licks and tastes)

Fitness Program Recommendations?
SandyM replied to BandedBrunette481's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm finding that out of all of it I've tried, I really enjoy cycling. I've always hated the shape of my calves, thighs and butt, but I gotta say they are perking up. -
1 year, 50lbs...only?
SandyM replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Guess if you want more out of it, you're probably going to need to put more into it. 50 lbs is a nice loss. I've lost 78, but I also exercise 4 to 5 days a week. If I exercised 6 to 7, I'd get even more out of it. Alot of people do it without exercise, but I couldn't. -
Worried because I haven't found a protein shake yet.
SandyM replied to krissi11's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I use the premier Protein ready made shakes. I believe they are lactose free. -
Anyone lose too much weight and now have to gain back
SandyM replied to Sweetcarol238's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
You nailed it. OP keeps saying she's "afraid to gain weight", not that she can't gain weight. This is definitely something that should be checked out. -
In hospital. Very uncomfortable. What have I done?
SandyM replied to katie1967's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
I don't know what he's talking about. I drink normally all the time. Anyway, it will get better. What you are experiencing is the swellling. It'll take a couple days to start subsiding and a few weeks to a month to be gone. Just stay with the liquids as directed, last thing you want is to start sliming and pbing. After I was cleared to, I started drinking some warm things. They went down and were very soothing. -
Sometimes the needle will get a little airlock or something and all of the fluid won't come out. I had all of my fluid removed 3 days after surgery (2ccs I believe). When I got my first real fill a few months later, I still had a cc in there. It happens.

I have 3 cups every morning and 5 on weekends. My surgeon never said I couldn't and it hasn't hurt me.

SandyM replied to katie1967's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
Yes, it's normal. It'll take you several days to start getting back to normal. Follow the nurses and doctors advise. Drinking is very important to keep from getting dehydrated. Walking is very important to get rid of the gas. Pain meds are very important to allow you to do both. Plication is hard on your body, but well worth it. I had read from people who had only the band that say they were out walking the roads the night of surgery. I had band, plication and hernia repair and I wasn't walking any streets for 2 days. -
If you are asking for advice...
SandyM replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Absolutely correct. If you don't want advice, don't ask; if you don't want someone elses personal experiences, dont ask, if you wonder if you need to call your surgeon, definitely do that. -
Seriously? It's silicone. How can that happen?

I buy the GV sugar fee oatmeal, maple and brown sugar. I mix a scoop of protein. Ummm ummm ummm! The best of both worlds!
