robgoblin, I can relate to your situation. I was banded in march and have not lost anything since then. I havent gained anything but i continue to struggle. i have a 10cc band and have 2.7cc in it. my fill nurse will only fill .5cc a fill. so far i have had three. i feel some restriction some times but can still eat anything in any quantity. i think that we just need to hang in there and not give up and continue to get fills. at my rate it may take me a while to get the kind of restriction that i think i need. i do try to make good food choices but the scale doesnt seem to move down at all. take care, keep the faith, it will be worth it in the end. this is a great post. I guess this must be the kind of band that i have. i was told my band holds 10cc. my md only fill at .6 cc each fill every 6 weeks. It may take me FOREVER!!! to feel any restriction!! how discouraging. i have sticking from time to time but if food doesnt stick i can eat anything at any quantity. not what i had planned or hoped for. it is not just the money but the time it may take to get to the SWEET SPOT!! thanks for all the info Joan b Reno -
I had insurance that did pay for the majority of my surgery. they paid for the first 90 days post op visits. of course the first fill for me was scheduled for day 92. it cost me over $275. i have had 2 fills so far with no real restriction. i too was aslo hoping to not have to spend thousands of more dollars to feel any benifit from this surgery. very discouraged joan b reno.

I agree with the others, It does not sound like gallbladder problems to me either. Call the doc, get it checked out. Joan B RN Reno Banded 3/12/07

Welcome to the group. There is great information provide in these chats. Keep up the diet and following the rules. For me once I started cheating with extra food or the wrong type of food it was really hard to get back on track. Good luck on your journey. It has only just begun. Joan B Reno Banded 3/12/07

i feel the same way. I was banded on 3/12/07. i feel very little restriction. I have had 2 fills, 6 weeks apart, for a total of 2.2 cc in a 10 cc band. I am getting disscouraged that this seems to be taking a long time to see any results. joan b reno -

I am glad to read this thread. I had my lap bad on 3/12/07. I felt no restriction proir to the first fill. at 6 weeks they inserted 1cc more of Fluid. I fill slight restriction at some times. I can still eat anything and also discouraged that i have not felt more restrictions. I sometimes feel things sticking in my throat. does any one know if this is normal? is ti sticking in my throat or is it the restriction in the stomach? i asked the doctor and did not get a straight answer? with another fill will this sticking get worse? is this the result I am looking for? i would appreciate any feedback:) Joan

Is this sticking? Is this the what it is supposed to feel like? If anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks for all the great posts here on line. joan B

Help - 3rd fill is giving me problems
jbacher replied to icuwalsh's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi there, I am so glad to here that others out there have not really felt a restriction. I am 20 days post op and have been eating real foods since day 6 or 7. I thought maybe my stomach has no active fullness sensors in it to feel the fullness that I expected. I have my first feel in 3 weeks and hope to feel some sort of restriction? I hope that if you take it slow and advance your diet more slowly that it will get better. Hang in there JBacher banded 3/12/07 -

I personally have tried the Flinstones and the Centrum silver chewables and the centrums have a much better taste than even the flinstones. Jbaher banded 3/12/07 -
I am confused over the protein drinks
jbacher replied to TRANAM1955's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor recommends the his patient drink at least one protien drink a day to ensure that they are getting enough protien. If you cut back too much on your intake of protien your body will digest protien from itself in the form of muscle loss. We all want to loss fat and not our lean muscle mass. Try to get your recommeded amount of protien each day. Good luck and hang i there, JBacher RN banded 3/12 -
Hi every one, It is possible that you had a catherter inserted during surgery, Sometimes they do it after the patient is asleep and remove it prior to waking up. Or the other thing is when I had my surgery they gave me amega dose of antibiotic, Antibiotics sometimes kill the good bacteria that protect us from yeast. Just some ideas Jbacher RN banded 3/12/07

pacupatty, I was told by my doctor that if the pills were smaller than a pencil eraser they shold be fine. The first 2 week post op I cut mine in 2-3 pieces just to make sure. jbacher banded 3/12/07

7 days postop to much protein?
jbacher replied to maya94115's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told by the dietician at my doctors office that your body can only digest 30 grams of protien at a time. Any thing more than that is apparently passed on through. fyi jbacher
