I don't have any tips to offer, just letting you know your not alone. I was extremely pissy last night when the hubby n kids ordered chicken strips n fries when we went to play pool. Then couldn't figure out why I wouldn't eat and they kept shoving the baskets in my face.... Yeah and they are my support group!!!

I have just started my pre op diet and had decided that I would limit the number of people I told. If the support I have gotten from my hubby n kids yesterday was any indication of how supportive they are going to be.... I am in for a bumpy ride!!!

We aren't close, but are on the same "schedule" for banding. First day was a witch. Husband and kids "forgetting" I can't eat and snarling down chicken strips n fries.... Then wondering why I wouldn't try them made it an even bigger ARGH.

Are these meetings still active? Have been looking for one in IL but seems like I am going to have to go to St L to find a group.

Is there one place to post "add ins" to make shakes better? I have seen them on different posts but I'm looking for the one with coffee.

I hear ya. I have debated canceling my surgery. I think it's just nerves.... Kind of like canceling your wedding a week before.

Do you know if any of the shake companies offer a variety pack or 'sample packs?' I bought a few single serving packs of nectar and jay somebody shakes... I would like to taste some of these BEFORE I spend $30-50 to find out they are gross and throw it away. Yes I am a little crazy getting ready for my 2 week pre-op diet. Thanks

Now we have to find a birthday cake and ice cream flavored Protein shake to Celebrate. Lol. Kidding!!!!

I see a lot of people talking about their stay in te hospital.... Mine is being done out patient, surg at noon and they say I will be headed home by 5. Is anyone else outpatient or am I being booted out too soon?

Has anyone purchased it.... If so was it of any help??

Hey!! I found the September group!!! I am scheduled 9/3. Scared to death.... Excited as heck.... Haven't been this emotional since pregnancy horomones were going crazy.

My dr office called me within hours of ins approval. They can print the paper copy off the Internet. Good luck. My surg isnt until 9/3. Which seems like forever away.

I have chosen not to tell. My mom, husband and kids ate the only ones who know. I know other family members would show up at my door with milk shakes and crap I don't need "to help me recover" since I can't eat. I also don't need their negativity (someone they know knew someone who had surgery and was walking down the street and a truck fell out of a window and killed them.... Because they had WLS). If asked after surgery, I wouldn't deny it.... But am not advertising. When anyone asks right now, I am having a stomach procedure..... Nothing more.

I'm 9/4. Hoping to loose about 80 pounds. And NOT the same 10 over and over and over. Lol.
