My name is Brittany. I am 22 years old and was banded on April 16th, 2013. I started my journey in November of 2012 when I finally decided that the LapBand was for me. I started my diet on November 21st, 2012 counting calories (per dietician) this was required by my Dr. I lost 29lbs Pre-op with only allowing myself 1200 calories a day (this of course including the 14 day Liquid diet Pre-op.) Since my surgery in April I have lost an additional 25 lbs. My starting weight was 319lbs, the biggest I have ever been. Which for a 21 year old is morbidly obese. I am 5 feet 7 inches tall and everyone couldn't believe I weighed that much. I carried my weight well but the scales were still a really hard battle for me. I guess seeing that much weight on the scale that day made my mind up for good. I am practically a newly wed (it will be a year in August) and my husband feel in love with me when I was big (he only weighs 135lbs) so I know there will be no problem when I get to my goal weight. I choose to have the LapBand done at such a young age because I want to have a family and was terrified at the complications that are possible with a overweight pregnancy.. This really opened my eyes. I am overly excited to really get my weight loss journey rolling and can't wait to see my end results!
