My one month is next Tuesday and I'm down about 18 pounds. I'm feeling good about my weight. I started at 232 and am at 215 or so now. Can't wait to hit onederland! -

How are you feeling Nikkoal??

I had one after surgery too. Never had one before. It went away quickly. I think it has something to so with the tube that goes down our throat and our lips get very dried out.

1 week and significant muscle loss !
Ahealthyme2013 replied to TheDue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahmed, my surgeon also has no protein or vitamins the first week. The philosophy behind it is that the body has enough stored protein that it does not require additional protein for healing. He believes the first week should be focused on avoiding dehydration. The issue with vitamins that early on is that many people get nauseous and then it becomes difficult for the surgeon to determine if the nausea is a complication or from the vitamins. -
How many calories 2 wks out?
Ahealthyme2013 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi all, I'm 2 weeks out and following my Dr's plan. I'm just wondering about how many calories people are getting at this stage. I'm on a very limited soft food stage that began yesterday. I'm just starting to incorporate refried beans, mashed potatoes and stuff. I'm measuring 1/4 cup and having 3 meals daily with my fluids but getting about 300-400 calories daily. Does that seem about right to others? -

I would call again, otherwise your going to end up dehydrated. They should not let you out of the hospital until you can keep fluid down! -

There's also shape wear for men. It's supposed to mold the body with compression. -

Someone suggested shape wear to me and said she and a friend are doing great with them. http://www.classicshapewear.com/fajas-salome-shapewear-m-105.html -

Sleeve: The UNTOLD Story
Ahealthyme2013 replied to NotTelling2013's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I think it's good to share experiences and personal stories. That being said, I had my surgery in California and my surgery was not on schedule either. My surgeon had warned me that may be the case, because he said he took his time, never rushed on patients and would take care of any emergency first. I loved that about him because if it were me having the emergency, I'm glad he was prioritizing my care over a scheduled appt. I was scheduled at 2pm. They called that morning pushed back to 3. Wasn't in OR until about 6pm. The only annoying thing was that I was starving... Nothing by mouth since the night before. -

I understand your frustration. I have been pretty open so far, but I work at a large high school with nearly 200 staff members and I know I will get a lot of questions. I'm no ashamed of the surgery, but my fear is any negative comments will probably put me on defense and I don't like confrontations. Some people are so set on what has worked for them without considering other people's journey. My advice is to do what feels right for you at the time. Just my 2 cents:) -
Hi all, I'm 10 days post op today and woke up feeling not as good as I had been feeling. I also felt moody all day. Hormones?
