    Vitamins/Supplements?

I do take with food, but being 6 weeks out from a Band revision to a Sleeve, the amount of food I am taking them with just isn't providing enough of a buffer. When I was banded I could take them no problem. I never though to take in several bites though ... maybe I will try that tonight. If that doesn't do it, I am definitely going to try something else.

    Vitamins/Supplements?

I was just looking through the forum for the answer to this same question ... I currently have the chewable daily multi Vitamin from Opurity and it makes me completely nauseous within a few minutes! Following your post to see what is out there that is recommended! Best Wishes!
  3. Agree! Everything is irritated right now and in the healing phase. I am 2 weeks/2 days out and I seemed to feel better about my liquids at day 6. Sip your liquids. And I try to steer clear of things that are really cold. They tend to constrict and I have a harder time. Wishing you all the best!

    Hi! New here!

Hey y'all! I am so glad to hear your stories. I was banded October 2013, the too loose/ too tight yo-yo for over a year, emptied March 2015 for 6 weeks for a concentric slip, refilled, too loose/ too tight again yo-yo for another year, then the emergency room in distress April 2016. Thankfully un-filling was enough to relieve the distress, but in testing they found again, my band has slipped. My insurance has approved the sleeve revision for 2 June, this Thursday. I am currently on my day 8 of 10 days of pre-op liquids and looking forward to what my future holds. The band gave me restriction of portions, but I was always hungry. I am happy with the loss of weight I was able to keep off with my band, but my excitement has been renewed because I am sure I can get off a considerable amount more. I keep checking back to this site for all the information I can get. It is really good to hear stories that I can relate to. Thank you for posting about yours!
  5. I was just approved for a revision to a sleeve and my current BMI is 31. Of course, every patient and insurance is different. I have now had 2 slips, each a year apart, and my surgery is scheduled for 2 June. Wishing you the best of luck.
  6. Wishing you continued success! Keep us posted on your recovery!

    Concerns after fill

I have found that once you have a fill, you have to learn how to use your band again. I recently had an adjustment that I recognized was too tight after about 2 weeks. I was having several stuck episodes a day and hiccupped all the time. I did have 0.5 cc removed and have been good to go since. Give yourself about a week and keep a good food journal for yourself. Make notes when you have an issue with a particular food and steer clear of that item. I hardly noticed a difference for myself until my band was around 5cc (in a 10cc band). Be patient and listen to your band. Wishing you all the best.

    chest pressure

Update on the pressure: At my doctors visit, the nurse suspected I had experienced a stuck episode and it left some swelling. Since I was still able to eat and drink, and not in any distress, I did not get a fill or unfill but waited to see and within 2 days the pressure was gone. Earlier this week I received a fill, and definitely have noticed a different restriction. I have had 2 stuck episodes, just in the past 2 days, and I can relate it to the feeling of pressure I noticed and wrote about originally. I'm having to retrain myself how to eat, smaller bites especially. Hope this thread can help someone out there.

Specific friend advice needed! Pic included

I agree about giving her the benefit of the doubt and being wrapped up in her wedding ... however, the road of friendship is about give and take. Especially if this is a childhood friend!! Someone that has been through more of your life with you than your spouse. It may be time to have the talk about taking great responsibility in your health and improving your quality of life. Not that you have to tell all ... but by saying, hey, a little positive reinforcement from you would be wonderful, might make her see the new you in different eyes! Congrats on #60! That's amazing! You are an inspiration to us bandsters! Keep up the great work!
  10. I just recently went to a support group that had a plastic surgeon as the speaker. It was amazing the transformations of the before and after pictures! The one thing he kept making clear is there will be scarring. One lady did ask the question about the band needing to be unfilled and his recommendation was that was only necessary if they were doing a tummy tuck and the port needed to be readjusted to the abdominal wall. Of course, check with your own surgeon for their suggestions. Wish you the best of luck! Be sure to take some before and after photos, even if only for your collection.

How long do you wait in between fills?

Same here. I think my doctors office wants monthly visits during the first year after surgery. They want to follow your progress, provide support and give fills as necessary. I finally feel that I am in the green zone ... up to that point, I was hungry all the time too. Try to make good choices, keep up on your protein and hang in there, it gets better, I promise!

I'm GREEN..... I'm GREEN at last!

I finally know what you speak of HealthyNewMe!!!! (doing the happy dance) I feel as I just achieved the green zone this week with my fill. I knew I was close since my fill last month gave me a longer satisfied feeling than I had experienced up to now. I finally feel that the band is taking over and these long months of willpower hell are through! Thank you for your post! Wishing you continued success!

Checking in to see how everyone is doing? Showingmyinside, how did your surgery go? Hope you are taking it easy
  14. Wishing you the best of luck! The hardest part it over. Listen to your body and what it tells you. If it is telling you to rest, you need a little more time to heal and try to take it easy. Keep us posted on your progress!
  15. Wishing you the best of luck! I think WLS is the best decision that I have made and its certainly changed my life ... and my health. I used to pick up a bagfull of meds every time I visited the pharmacy and I am happy to say that I am now taking only 3 prescriptions daily, one blood pressure tablet, one allergy tablet and an asthma inhaler. And that blood pressure tablet is now being cut in half! It will change your life too! You've found a great support site. Keep us posted of your progress!
