Ok everyone. We’ve been WAY too quiet! How is everyone doing? I feel so much better. The weight loss isn’t where I thought I’d be but it’s progress. 64 lb since my pre-diet weight. Slow but happening. I joined a kick boxing class and it’s HARD but hoping it gets the weight moving the right way. I’m finally below 300 which is exciting though.

I hit 50 from pre-op today and 36 since surgery. Feels slow but then I see that number and think ok maybe not. Just weird I’m in all the same clothes, no one has really noticed. It’s just strange all the way around. Not sure I was fully prepared for the mental side of this surgery.

Talked with my doctor at my 6 week follow up and he explained how normal the stalls are. Said that he didn’t even talk weight at the 6 week follow up and that we would review at the 4 month appointment. He explained that because of the pre and post diets that our bodies are in starvation mode so once we start real foods coming back that our bodies are freaked out and hold onto every calorie and no weight goes. Said that in a bit our bodies will realize that we’re feeding it again and weight will start coming off again. This explanation made me feel much better because I was feeling pretty bad about stalking. Hope it helps some of you too!

Went to the doctor today for my 6 week checkup (a week early because of work travel). All cleared for foods and physical restrictions. Each day has been better. He made me feel so much better about the weight stall and told me it’s completely normal. Go back in January for a 4 month check in. How is everyone doing?

Tuna, egg salad and scrambled eggs are going great for me. Had chili this week too.

Hi KBridge, I’m well. Traveled last week for work and it was tiring! I had my first bite of real food last night and that tiny amount of chicken salad might have been the best thing ever. Super frustrated that the scale didn’t move the whole week I was gone though. Ugh! Like how is that possible. I’m hoping I was swollen from flying. Still some pain on left side but so much better. How are you?

Flew on a 4.5 hour flight today. Sore and traveling on liquids is hard y’all. Luckily the chef at hotel special made me a soup tonight. Any advice on traveling while on liquids would be helpful!

Once my doctor saw the information he was totally onboard. I printed the nutritional info for the bariatric and women’s once a day. Taking both. It doesn’t also mix super well but it’s small liquid and lots of powder. I pour into a bit of diet cran juice to dilute the flavor a bit too. So much easier than choking on pills for me. Good luck!

I’m doing the Tespo Bariatric liquid vitamins and my doctor called in a weekly nasal spray B12. Once I started these I started feeling much better!

I’m a terrible back sleeper so I found that if I shove a pillow under my belly and one behind my back I’m kinda on my side and that helped. Have you tried gas strips? When I had my band years ago those were my best friends. I’ve been lucky this time and no gas. Watch that incision carefully, I know you know this! But opening incisions are scary.

I'm here @planochick. Today is by far my worst. Pain, nausea just icky feeling! I'm praying that this passes soon. Ugh Oh Karen I hope it passes too. Today is my worst pain in my lower side. Other than that I feel ok. But it seriously feels like there is a knife in my left side. Praying for you!

Wondering where you’ve been. Glad to know I’m not the only slow recovering one. Reading some of these people all over and feel bad feeling bad. I’m moving and doing stuff but I definitely hurt on my lower left side!

I haven’t had that but my doctor gave me a prescription in case of spasms so it must be fairly common. My left lower side hurts terribly today. Everything else is good but man it feels like a knife stabbing me in that lower side.

Yes. Yesterday was a turning point I thought. Washed my hair, my daughter drove me to the grocery store and I scooter around on a power chair. 😂 was happy to be out of the house. When I got home I hit a wall and just had to take pain and nausea meds. Ugh!

How is everyone doing today? Especially my 9/26 buddies. Getting better each day here.

Dr called to check on me and then fussed at me over protein. I’m barely getting water and PowerAid down. Who’s using what unflavored protein mixes to add to sugar free drinks?

The Powerade has seemed to help some. Took a short nap and not as dry of a mouth. Going to keep sipping on that today. Sadly my son got red and it seems a bit sweet. He works at a grocery store so he’s bringing me home yellow tonight.

I brought mine home from the hospital but I’m not sure I could ever get them on. Especially by myself

Oh ladies you all make me feel better. I was starting to feel dramatic but this has by far been the hardest recovery from and abdominal surgery I’ve had. My mouth is so dry and no matter how much I drink it goes back dry. I’m sending my son for some Powerade zero hoping that some electrolytes will help.

I was much better at hospital. Since being home severe pain on lower left which he said was normal because that’s where most of the work was done. I was expecting to bounce back faster but this one has been rough. How are y’all doing?
