To Be Clogged - What I Wish I Knew about Pain Killers

My husband and I just had that conversation. How can I still have a BM each day and not be eating anything to form it? His answer was I just had to get rid of what I already have. I just had to chuckle when I came out and read your post! Hope you're feeling great! I was banded Monday and feel really good. This is the first time I've felt like I just want to chew something. Am going shopping soon so may be can find something. Have a great day! -
Steffyp, Wow you are way ahead of me! I am still on full liquids for the first week. I can have yogurt but no fruit. I have tried my grandson's gogurt-it comes in a stick- and they are wonderful! My next goal is to try greek yogurt- which is a little thicker. I am really nervous about getting something stuck!!! What kind of yogurt did you eat? I start a progression of food this Monday. It starts with cottage cheese. I have not been hungry at all- maybe too scared to eat! However my stomach has not growled once. I do have 2 protein shakes a day and that is 40 g protein. Have you tried protein shakes? I like Slimfast High Protein-chocolate. They aren't bad at all. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes! Good Luck!

Yea! I did it! Had surgery Monday and feel great! Hardly would have known Tuesday that I had had surgery the previous day! Didn't think it would be so pain free. Yes I have had Advil twice a day and only had prescription med. (1/2 dose) on Monday. The only pain I have had is incisional pain. I have been kind of sluggish but went out shopping for an hour on Wed. and have been out Thurs and today. My doctor put me on all liquids this week and that has been fine also. I guess the real challenge will be Mon when I start more soft solids. Wish me luck!

What is the typical length between first consultation appt and surgery??
dreamchaser replied to ldill's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first Dr visit was June 3rd and I will have surgery July 15. I have BCBS of IL. They approve quickly after all test are done (psych, esophagus x-ray, radioactive stress test, EKG, blood work.) As I am a teacher I really became my own advocate as I wanted plenty of time before school starts to recoup. -
Going to information session....

I really liked when I went they presented information. Did not try to persuade you that this will change your life. The Dr. also, when I first met him, said he would just present facts and told me it was not for everyone. It was not the surgery but what I did with it after surgery. They were not trying to "sell" the product. I would ask what experience your Dr. has, how many has he done. My Dr started in 2001 (when it came out or FDA approved) and has done over 2,ooo. Also I thought one of the guests was also there for info. As she spoke she already had had it for 3 years and had gained her weight back. Remember it's easy to drink your calories. Also ask about removal rate, even success rate. Hope this helps a little! -
Good Morning, Trying to prepare for surgery this Monday! So excited! Doctor wants me to take chewable vitamins and chewable calcium. He did say Flintstones were fine-but there are about 5 choices of them! I need help! Too late to order any online. Didn't think of that! Do any taste better than others? Looked at Walgreens yesterday and some of them you can really rack up the calories!!! Thank you. Ann
