Here endeth the stall

that's great! it's so good to read these first hand accounts from people i've been following since their pre-op journey. -
Aetna...What did you do to get approved?
jessiquoi replied to dede0314's topic in Insurance & Financing
and.... they're still pending! it's been three weeks since i've been submitted. i just got aetna to agree to have their nurse call my surgeon's office to try to facilitate this happening. i've been calling at least once a week. frustration! if i have to have my date moved back yet again i will scream. i'm so stressed about this i have been eating, and i don't want to lose this whole thing by ending up having a net gain. frustrating! so happy for those of you who are having an easier time of this. -
@@CowgirlJane, you are never too old. i think the older we get, the better we are at relationships regardless of our weight, just because we're more experienced and wiser. i always hoped but never expected i would find such a satisfying relationship at my age (i'm 57 and we met last year in April). and, we met online. i've been online dating for 10 yrs since i left my husband, and although i always prefer meeting someone organically (ratio of organic:online relationships in 10 yrs = 2:3), online dating has been one venue that i would suggest keeping open. you never know who you're going to meet. i found the key is being incredibly honest in your profile... so honest that you would turn off anyone who isn't going to be in to you. anyway, it worked for me. i'm glad you had fun! before i met John, dating was my favorite hobby.

Aetna...What did you do to get approved?
jessiquoi replied to dede0314's topic in Insurance & Financing
@@Ladiec2, it says in the requirements that you can do either six months or three months, depending on who monitors your weight during that period. My surgeon is a center of excellence and having them supervise my diet for three months was sufficient. -
congrats! i'm glad you found it easy.

Protein...You're making me sick.
jessiquoi replied to NotWishWhen512's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

1 month post op and kind of struggling
jessiquoi replied to angelamarie374's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
did you explain to your doctor that you were vomiting after eating and that's why you're not getting enough calories in? perhaps you can get a prescription for an anti-nausea medication that will help you. it's so important to get your Protein in, and if you don't eat enough calories, your body will hold on to what it already has and it will negatively impact your weight loss. -
Just received a copy of my medical records and it shows my BMI was below 35 during the 2 year period
jessiquoi replied to Ladiec2's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
instead of giving the surgeon the records, can you have your PCP write a letter stating that you are eligible? mine did and it got through without giving dates and specifics. -

Its finally becoming real the doctor submitted to my insurance
jessiquoi replied to LisaLou30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
and.... they still say pending additional information from the doctor. called the doctor's office who said they faxed it over earlier this week. sigh. trying to stay on top of it, but doesn't seem like i'm being very effective at it. still hoping for a 11/4 date. -
@RJ'S/beginning, i'm so sorry you've gone through everything you have had to deal with. i've read your posts and have always been amazed at how positive you remain. you always have an uplifting word for others who are having post-surgery issues, and because they came from you, they were more meaningful than anyone who has had an easier road. i hope your present state of mind is only temporary and you bounce back soon. attitude is everything, right? and yours has been an inspiration to many of us. you have every right to feel the way you feel right now. let it out and let it go. hugs from Maryland!

Its finally becoming real the doctor submitted to my insurance
jessiquoi replied to LisaLou30's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i've been waiting over a week. i called the insurance company to follow up and they told me they requested additional information from the doctor. i called the doctor and they said they were on it... i'm going to call the insurance company again today. patience is not one of my strongest virtues. -

Any November Sleevers for 2014 need surgery buddys?
jessiquoi replied to happymama2014's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i am counting the days until 11/4. only 19 to go! and 15 to go before i have to start my 4-day liquid diet. i am starting to get a little somber in light of the seriousness of the surgery. not scared, just feeling it as more real than an abstract idea in my mind. -
Does Gastric Sleeve Surgery "cure" diabetes?
jessiquoi replied to MINI-Me's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
thank you, @@luvinitcuzican, for the post. i too am a Type 1 diabetic, and it is very frustrating that people don't recognize the difference between Type 1 and Type 2. Understandable because Type 2 is so much more prevalent, but frustrating just the same. to reiterate... i will ALWAYS have diabetes. even my SURGEON was uninformed about this. he tried to convince me that i would be "cured" after surgery. this caused me to cancel my surgery the first time around. i finally had my endocrinologist speak to him, and he is now set straight. i just didn't want him to be giving wrong information to other patients. -
love her to death, but really... i'm so tired of having to worry about her feelings when all i can think of is my impending surgery (in 2 or 3 weeks). SOMEHOW i hurt her feelings yesterday while discussing plans for my birthday this Friday. we're having dinner at her house (she is not cooking, i want pizza), and i invited some of my cousins, and she's upset because i don't know who is coming exactly and she didn't like the way i reacted to her being upset. i guess i may have sounded a bit short... but geez, i was at the office dealing with work. awww crap, now i feel like i should apologize, but seriously, i'm so tired of this. i wish i could just hide in a room by myself (well, with my cats) (ok, and my boyfriend) (but NOT my daughter and mother) until after surgery. ok, i just sent her an email saying i'm sorry her feelings were hurt and that it was unintentional, without apologizing for what i said (i have no IDEA what set her off this time). i'm still in the mood to rant and rave, but i've run out of topics. maybe i will go fire someone lol.

Who will you tell that you are having WLS?
jessiquoi replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm telling nobody from work, even those who are close friends. I told my family members who I know love me unconditionally and will support me. I told my four best friends, none of who know each other or any of my other friends because they're all from past lives and so there's no chance of any leaks there. I told my guy because he lives with me and will be taking care of me. I may add to this later, but right now, this is it. (I'm scheduled for 11/4) -

Vomiting after surgery?
jessiquoi replied to jenmc2404's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i have seen only SOME people say that, and only for a short while. don't fixate on that point, please. i hate vomiting also, but i know that if i do experience it, it will only be a temporary part of my adjustment. -
i think you should wear whichever one makes you feel more comfortable dancing. if you're not comfortable, it will show. that said, if they're both equally comfy, i'd go with the dress. it's not "trying too hard" to just TRY! no reason not to put what you think is your best foot forward, regardless of what you want the outcome to be.
