    10 days post op and...

so, strung out druggie is your halloween costume for this year! lol... based on other things in life, both medical and otherwise, i would suggest not expecting each day's status to be improving on a straight trend line upwards. most things go back and forth a bit, with overall improvement noticed over a longer term than one day. so try not to beat yourself up. distilling your post, i hear: you're tired, and you're bored with your diet. so give yourself a break and rest today! and maybe, look at some of the recipes people have posted on here, for every phase, and try something new to break your boredom. congrats on the weight loss!

    anxiety

absolutely! i just got my date of 11/18 a couple of days ago, and every few hours i get "omg i'm going to have most of my stomach cut out in less than three weeks!" then i try to breathe and relax, and start going through all the wonderful things that i have to look forward to post-surgery... feeling better, walking better, relief from pain, reduction in daily medication needed, being able to get up from the couch without a helping hand, wearing clothes that make me look as sexy as i feel... i just keep going until i can smile. breathe. we'll be fine.

  6. Got my date!!! 11/18. Anyone else on that day?
  7. i wish i could say i'm excited, but i'm just disappointed that it's not for another three weeks when just three weeks ago they told me probably 10/21 or 10/28. well, i'm also in the middle of a horrific insulin attack (low blood sugar) and dealing with multiple production problems at work, so it ain't the best day. yay

    Got my date - 11/18

Thanks. I realize how down I sound in the post. I get like that and then I get over it very quickly. I'm sure there is a reason for the date I received.

    Sleep apnea

folks, as someone who has used a cpap for over 5 yrs, i will attest that it is VERY DIFFICULT to get used to. i almost gave up on it to because it was so uncomfortable, but a good friend who uses one convinced me to keep trying different mask styles because they all feel different. he was right! on my third mask style, i found a winner, and have slept awesomely ever since. please call the people who provided the machine to you and tell them the mask is not fitting correctly. keep doing this until you get the right one for you. there are many different styles, and many different brands of each style. the mask is like shoes. sometimes you have to walk around in them before you know they are not the right fit. i hope this helps you get through this!

    What was worse part

definitely the waiting is the worst!
  15. to me, it's not the actual FAT that i hate, it's the weakness i feel exists by not being able to handle this one issue in my life. why am i capable of just about everything else i've ever attempted, and not at this? THAT's what gets me irked.

Aetna...What did you do to get approved?

@@cube68, i would call the insurance company to make sure they got everything they need first. following up with them seems to be the easiest to do, and doesn't annoy the person in the surgeon's office by continually checking. when i got the word from the insurance company that they were waiting for additional information from the doctor, THEN i called the surgeon's office to faciliatate them sending the additional info. then back to the insurance company, yada yada yada. does it help to do all this calling? i don't know, but it made me feel better than just waiting.
  20. first of all, you have NOT "already" failed. and please, take that phrase out of your vocabulary, because it sounds like you are EXPECTING to fail. to me, the amount of exercise you are describing doing is NOT the definition of a sedentary person. so, give your nutritionist the benefit of the doubt of her professional knowledge (regardless of her unfriendly manner) and try upping your calories for a week. i bet you have great results! one thing i remember from my WW days is that if you eat a little differently each day, it keeps your metabolism active. so even if you add two or three days a week of higher calories, i bet you will see a difference.

Aetna...What did you do to get approved?

i finally got the approval late Friday, by calling the insurance company. now i'm waiting on the surgeon's office to schedule me. and, yes, i called them Friday and today. one more hurdle....
  22. here's my initial thought: whenever we first go on a diet, we lose quickly. i have always found there is weight that comes off easily because of the large amount i have to lose. call it "Water weight" or whatever, it's just a fact. you've already lost that weight, with your pre-op and post-op diets. that could be the reason your loss has slowed. are you eating enough to support your workouts?
