@@tiffin-scott, i agree with @@chellede, read more of the after-surgery posts, and the fear will start to dissipate. i haven't read ANYONE on here who stuck with the regret, even those who experienced complications have said they would do it all over again. i am looking forward to a cousin's wedding next labor day, and buying a gorgeous dress that will not be from a plus size store! it will be the first time a lot of my family will see me post-surgery, and i'm looking forward to wowing them, and dancing my feet off all night long. -
i hear you loud and clear! i've been going through it already, and i am still a month pre-surgery! just going through my pre-op three month supervised diet has depressed me greatly. i've made more/different changes than i ever have before in a diet, preparing for life after sleeving, and it's depressed me greatly. i have to work so hard to find joy in places other than food, and it's depressing as hell to realize how much of my happiness was/is based on food. i hope to replace this with exercise highs, when i weigh less and can move without pain. fight the fight! we are worth the pain we are going through, and let's face it... it was pretty depressing being fat, when we allowed ourselves to actually think about it (instead of hiding the feelings behind more food).

Training for STRENGTH without going to the gym-OPTIONS?
jessiquoi replied to mi75's topic in Fitness & Exercise
check out Les Mills' Pump. it's available now on dvd and comes with weights, about $200 all together i think. i used to take these classes at the gym. they are high quality, with great music, and work the whole body smartly and i found it fun. -

i'm sitting at my desk waiting for my doc's office to open so i can call them. i'm totally paralyzed right now. all i can think about is "please don't let this throw off my WLS journey", which i know is just keeping me safe from thinking about anything worse. -

Drinking Alcohol... It's not worth it!
jessiquoi replied to Darianna75's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
i'm with @mrshawk92. munchies never been a problem here. alcohol isn't worth the calories to me and i usually avoid it, maybe 2 or 3 drinks/month... and i intend to continue doing so after surgery, but i do love a good glass of wine or a finely crafted beer. and kahlua. mmmmmmm! -

@@Kathy812, i have been using a CPAP to sleep for about 7 years. it takes some getting used to, but it is worth it, i sleep so very much better with it that i actually can't sleep without it now! be patient, and if the mask is at all uncomfortable, call them and try another one. several people i know, myself included, have tried at least 3 different masks before finding the one that works best for them. there are so so many different models and brands, there will be one that you can tolerate and learn to love. that's my best advice. it took me about 2 months to get it right, so be patient. -

@@Jen - a work in progress I suck at food logs too! and i know from experience that they really do help. that doesn't make me do it though. it's the stupidest thing, isn't it? it's so easy to do, and makes success so much easier... but hey, if we could have done it, we wouldn't be here now, right? i am getting nervous as September moves along and i don't have a surgery date scheduled. i've been hoping/expecting October all along. i have my last pre-op tests tuesday 9/16 (endoscopy and colonoscopy), and my last weigh in the week after on 9/23. i expect they will submit me to insurance at that time. fingers crossed! -
hi all! i have my endoscopy and colonoscopy scheduled for next tuesday, which is my last pre-op test! woohoo! i have my last weigh in the week after, on 9/23. i haven't lost as much as they (surgeon's office) wanted me to, so i'm a little nervous about how they will handle that. they weren't very warm and fuzzy when i went in for my last one and stayed the same weight. (i lost 6 lbs the first month.) they bummed me out so much, i called the insurance company and found out that THEIR only requirement is that i don't GAIN weight during the three month period. so, i can't imagine the surgeon will actually turn me down. i'm trying as hard as i can to be good, and hope to show a few more pounds down. my head is totally into this, i can't focus on anything else. october is going to rock this year! it's my birthday month, and this year it will be my RE-birthday month.
