    I've been having Water and broth and have started to feel hungry in the last hour or so. I am still really sore so not at the point of thinking I made the right decision yet. My shoulders hurt. Oh my do they hurt!!! But I'm just hoping that each day ill feel a little better and the band will start working for me

    Hi brittani, I was banded today. My starting weight was 399 and I lost 22 on pre-op (which was for 4 weeks). How are you feeling a week out from being banded?

    I've just dropped the kids off at their grandparents ready for my surgery tomorrow *wipes tears away*. Now I need to pack my bag for hospital and I'm ready. I can't believe after all these months of waiting the big day is finally here. By lunchtime tomorrow I will have a lapband. I'm praying for a smooth surgery and fast recovery!

    Welcome Kari! I'm getting banded tomorrow!! Nerves have passed and now I just want to get it over and done with.

    Sorry... I hadn't finished when one of my kids bumped me! I'm hoping seeing the bracelet when I open the fridge or cupboards to eat will be a strong reminder to stay on the straight and narrow! And a reward for my hard work because I will be reminded of how far I have come!

    I have done the same! I bought a pandora fixed bead bracelet that fits 5 beads on it and I plan to buy a bead for every 10 that I lose. I'm hoping that having a bracelet on my wrist and seeing it when I open the fridge

    My surgery is in two days and I'm starting to get worried! Up until now I've only been worried about the anesthetic, but now I'm worried about how I'll feel afterwards!!

    Tamara I felt awful for the first four days of pre- op. Bad headaches, no energy, and just downright horrid. My surgeon said to expect bad headaches for the 4-5 days due to sugar and carb withdrawal. You will feel better soon

    My surgery is monday morning! I'm feeling very nervous (mainly about the anesthetic) but excited at the same time. Really struggling with the pre-op diet this week. I know it's my last chance to eat before liquids so that's all I want to do!!

    August bandsters, how are you all going?? Anyone been banded yet? My surgery is Monday.

    Renee the first four days were the worst for me, after that it got easier. I have had a couple of little slip ups but have still managed to lose 22 pounds after three weeks of pre-op. One more week to go:) Be prepared for headaches (from the sugar/carb withdrawal) and stock up on diet soda. It has been my life saver! And don't beat yourself up if you do slip up. This forum is a great place to find support and inspiration. Good luck!

    One week to go... I can't believe after waiting for so long, I am only 7 days away from getting banded!! Three weeks of pre-op are done and dusted and I'm now 22 pounds lighter. I met with the anesthetist today and he talked me through what to expect on the day. Feeling more confident that everything will go well and that August 6th will be a life changing day

    I'm three weeks away from my surgery and worried about having sleepy juice for the surgery. I've been put to sleep for surgery before but that was years ago and I was thin. I've been told that anesthetic is dangerous for very overweight people.. Did anybody out there have any complications???
