Has anyone had the problem of liquid pooling in your throat at night? It doesn't matter when I stop eating or drinking...when I take my meds...etc. I have tried an hour, two hours, etc. before bedtime and nothing works! Liquid, doesn't seem to be acid...I don't feel like I have reflux it almost seems like drainage or saliva....? It pools at the base of my throat and I wake up feeling like I am drowning! I can only sleep on my left side, if I try the right or my back there's no way I can stay more than 15 minutes or the liquid begins to pool. I also have a CPAP. Anyone out there having the same type of problem? I am 2 1/2 years banded and lost 75 pounds....

I think that's definitely a very personal decision....who to tell. Everyone is different. I told everyone around me! They have all been great help and very encouraging. I DO want to be a spokesperson for the band. I am only 2 weeks banded but I was singing its praises even before I was banded! Right along with those of my surgeon, Dr. Ray in Bloomington, IN. No solution is perfect for everyone. I didn't gain 150 pounds over night and I won't lose it over night. But to think I have any option that is less invasive than RNY that I felt like I could handle....WOW that's incredible! Hopefully the insurance companies will catch up to the technology and more people who want to be banded will have that opportunity to change their lives. Do your research, make sure you are comfortable with your decision to be banded and then......follow your heart! Tell or don't tell....it doesn't matter.....the only thing that matters is making yourself happy and being healthy!

I'm freaking out a little

I am 4 days post op. I took 1 Lortab when I got home and I Lortab the next night to make sure I would get a good nights sleep. I haven't had a thing since then, no tylenol, nothing, no pain. Don't worry so much about it......everyone is different but if you can just relax and enjoy the experience one day at a time it will all work out. It helps that I have ABSOLUTE TRUST in my surgeon. He treats me like a person and spends time with me and always asks if I have any questions, so I went in eyes wide open. Everybodys different.....no one can promise you that you won't have some pain.....how you deal with it is what's important! GOOD LUCK!:welcome2: to the LB club! -
My Doc sent me home with a script for Phenergan. Its been a miracle! I had it first in the hospital and have only had to take one since I have been home! Surgery 3/27 - Dr. Ray - Bloomington, IN

Hey, just wanted to meet fellow Hoosier banders! I go to Dr. Ray in Bloomington and he is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He and his staff are first class! You actually get to talk to a person when you call there! And you rarely get put on hold!:faint: I personally wouldn't go to any other Dr. He broke his arm right before I was going to have surgery......I waited. I wouldn't trust anyone else. He has done the 2nd most LB surgeries in Indiana. He is TOP NOTCH! He will be opening his own surgery center in Bloomington this summer! WOOHOO! Spread the word!:clap2: I am 4 days post op and I am on top of the world! I can't believe how good I feel! Surgery was a breeze! I am hungry......but that's an adjustment I can make and it gives me something to look forward to.....soft solids! I'll keep everyone posted as to my progress! :typing: I started at 308 and would love to be 1/2 the person I am now!
