I'm up getting ready to head to the hospital. I get banded today. I'm so excited. I can't wait to be healthy. New me. New life. Good luck to all my fellow bandsters getting banded today. Happy BAND BIRTHDAY!!!

Ive heard different things from different people and sites. I had coffee the whole time. The caffeine helped suppress my appetite but I used splenda sugar and fat free milk. I've heard that putting some instant coffee in your Protein shakes is yummie also. But to be safe u should ask your doc or nutritionist. I barely made it thru my 2 week diet. Lol. I cheated a few times :/ but still lost 15 lbs I got banded yesterday and will start my Clear liquids today. Cant wait to be back on Soups and yogurts. Mmmmmm... anyways. Best of luck

Congrats on getting banned today. I was originally scheduled for Friday the 13th then my doctor rescheduled for yesterday. Glad its over with. I was out for most of the day yesterday and today I'm still at the hospital. As a matter of fact I STILL haven't drank yet. I'm waiting to take a swallow test to make sure everything will go down smooth. Luckily I'm not too hungry or thirsty. My IV has been sustaining me I love your list of the changes you are looking forward to. Sending positive vibes your way. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Get plenty of rest and keep us all posted.

Surgery was a success. My doc requires his patients to stay over night for observation so I'm still here at the hospital. I've been in and out of consciousness and am just barely getting the strength to text back some well wishing friends and my siblings. My abdomen is sore and tender but since I haven't had any thing to eat or drink for almost 24 hours now I refuse to take any pain meds stronger then liquid Tylenol. My mouth is way dry but I'm not too hungry just way thirsty. I will have another barium swallow test done tomorrow morning to make sure all is well inside then I will be free to start sipping my Clear liquids. Other then that I feel ok and am so super excited to lose weight and get healthy.

I know. I really couldn't sleeo either. I figured I'd get plenty of rest during and after the operation. Lol CHEERS

I get banded in 8 hours im so anxious I cant sleep. I found 2 other people with the same "band birthday". We should totally keep I touch and stay updated with each other's progress and be around for advice and support. Good luck to the both of you. Happy Band Birthday.

OMG. YAY...were almost there. I can't believe the day has finally come. I would love to hear how yalls surgery went and keep track of your progress since were all on the same day. Good luck to both of you.

Mine is scheduled for tomorrow (9/12) also. Im super excited. Good luck tomorrow. And I agree. Liquid diet sucks. Lol.

LOL Fit2btied....I totally agree. Anyways, I'm just hoping it's not too detrimental to my surgery this week. My doc just said that its important to not eat so that my pancreas is smaller during surgery and that I lose a little weight before surgery. So I hope that he can't tell too bad that I have cheated on this liquid diet.

It's probably cheaper to make your own, but if you don't have access to cold Water, maybe buying a premade one is better. I have not yet made a Protein shake. I always buy the pre made ones from the store. I think I will buy the powder to make them at home and then just use the premade ones to drink when I'm out and about. But anyways, to answer your question, I usually chug mine anyways weather its warm or cold :/

I have BCBS TX also and my doctor just submitted my paperwork to get approved for surgery. I was just wondering how long it took you to get approved after you submitted your paperwork.
