    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

I've lost 60#. haven't had a fill since dec. don't know if this is the "green" zone or not. I just know that I feel great, continue to lose (slowly), and I can live with this.

I'm just so happy...and it's hard to hide it!

SillyAuntDi I feel the same way! I've lost 36# in 3 months and I strut around like I'm a size 2! I'm not. I tell everyone I've had lapband surgery. Just came from my PCP and my bp and cholesterol are back to normal. Even more reason to feel confident. I still struggle with old habits but the new me is winning.

    JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES

Banded 7/22. Lost 36# so far. I've had 3 fills for a total of 4.3 in a 10cc band. If I listen to the band I stay within my calorie goal. But, if I choose to ignore the signals I can really overeat. I have to keep my head in the game to make this work. Waiting until I get myself back to basics before I get another fill. Not sure I'll know green when it happens. Good luck everyone on the next 3 months.

    A caution about fills

Timely post for me. I'm debating a third fill. I've lost 24# in 12 weeks. I have 3.5cc in a 10cc band. I follow all the band rules, especially the ones about protein. But I still feel hungry after about 2 hrs. I've never been stuck, slimmed or pb'ed. So the debate is am I doing all the work or should I get the band to do its job. I'll talk to my pa but I'd like to hear what others think. If I'm this close to green and should I risk going past green. Last fill was sept 30th. TIA

    Fitbit

Jewelry vs fitbit? That's a hard decision. I like my fitbit over a pedometer because it's more accurate and user friendly. It motivates me to exercise because I want to go over 10,000 steps. If, at the end of the day, I'm close I walk around until I hit my goal. Don't really use the sleep feature (I did a couple of times) and don't see how it could actually improve my sleep. Wt loss has improved my sleep!

    My furry son is dying

I'm so sorry. It's never easy to lose a loved one. I'll give Rosie extra love and hugs today.

    Fitbit

I have the fitbit one and love it. I got mine free from the hospital where I work after doing a health assessment and coaching. It syncs to MFP. If I'm close to 10,000 steps at the end of the day I walk around the house until I get there. It also syncs to my droid phone and I get messages telling me how I'm doing. All of that keeps me motivated.

    First fill yesterday

Had my 1st fill today, almost 7 weeks postop. He tried 3 cc and I felt like I had to burp but couldn't. He backed off to 2.5 and that sensation went away. Now, 24 hr liquids and 48 hr mushie. I've been really hungry so I hope this helps.

    popcorn?

I was a daily popcorn eater my whole life, long before microwaves. When I started the process to get a band I cut popcorn out because I figured I would never have it again. I'm 6 wks postop. I really want to have popcorn but I'm still on soft foods. I hope one day I can have it in moderation, fingers crossed.

Help me adjust my perspective here...

A good friend and co-worker had a sleeve last year. She was older than me, had a higher BMI than me and had tons of health problems. I was happy and excited for her and even assisted in her surgery. But every week that she came in smaller and wearing smaller jeans I found myself envious. I even made a snarky comment about a pair being too " young" for her. I'm not proud and now I'm noticing distance from other co-workers after I've only lost 20#. People are going to be jealous. Real friends will get over it. And, I did apologize to my friend and I can admit she looks great.

    Speechless!

Oops, anyway, they are motivation to stick to this " diet". Go for my first fill next week and I hope to remove the word diet

    Speechless!

I have a pair like that. Got them out of the attic the week before my surgery. Not in them yet, but they are motivate

    Been hiding on the outskirts

Hello. I'm one of those people that tells everything they know. I even told the lady at the pool store when she noticed I lost weight. I may regret being so open down the road but I hope it keeps me accountable. I don't want to have to tell everyone why I'm not losing. This site is great. I'm 12 days postop and have learned something new and helpful every day. Good luck!
