Medifast Opinions
Watchershrink83 replied to LI Lady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried Medifast before surgery. However it got pretty expensive, around $300 a month for just me. I still had to go food shopping for the rest of the house. But I did lose a good amount of weight while on it. Hope this helps. -

FANTASTIC JOB THERE SIR!!! -
Hi there! I got my first fill yesterday as well. My doc gave me 3cc's as well, he said that's the usual amount for the first fill. As for the nurse, pay her NO MIND. People will always find something to say. As Dory says in Finding Nemo "just keep swimming".

Major Nsv...at Least For Me It Is!
Watchershrink83 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hey, hey, hey...everyone! This is the only place I can post this and someone will totally understand why I'm so happy. Today the hubs and I decided to make it a movie night. We had a busy afternoon, therefore this evening we just wanted to chill. My hubby decided that he would order pizza for dinner. Now in my last post I explained how pizza is my kryptonite, so when he said pizza my mouth immediately started to Water. Anywho, the pizza arrived smelling supa (my version of super) delicious and I couldn't focus for a few minutes! However I am ecstatic to report that I didn't have a single slice!!! I'm doing my happy dance as I'm typing this. I'm even more excited because this triumph comes on the eve of my fist fill. Woot, woot! I had to share this because my biggest battle with weight loss happens between my ears. Tonight was a major victory for me. And on that note, have a splendid evening everyone. -

October Bandsters- How The Heck Are Ya?
Watchershrink83 replied to Ms.Vickie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey, hey, hey! I had my surgery October 11th and so far down 15 pounds. First fill is tomorrow, super excited. I love the compliments of friends and family. Looking forward to the next four weeks. -
Girl! I know exactly how you feel. I have yet to get my first fill and my habits are starting to go backward. However keep the faith, you know this tool works when you put in the work. Look at some of your before pictures to remind you of how far you've come.

Man...listen... I seriously believe I need to create a lapband for my brain. I got banded not to long ago (Oct 11th) and while I've done well with the mushies, soft foods, liquids etc, the most difficult part has been learning how to eat all over again. For instance, today my boss ordered pizza for the office today. Now the pre-banded me would have had 3-4 slices. Today I had one and a half slice and I thought I was going to pop! Now I know, I should've not had the pizza. But adjusting to this new life style is proving to be more of a challenge than I thought. I know that I will not regret getting the band but it is most definitely going to take some hard work. Now don't get me wrong, I am not asking for sympathy I know that I have to start making healthier choices. Just wondering if anyone else went through this. Did anyone feel this way before they got their first fill?

True, true one slice is way better than 4 slices. It is absolutely a marathon!! -

Stress definitely makes it that much harder. I hope your stressful situations soon go away. I'll keep you in my prayers. -
Lapband for my brain!

B-52 thank you so much for sharing this with us. My learning curve is one REALLY big curve. I am realistic, I know my years for unhealthy eating habits is not going to change overnight but you have really given me hope. I know that once the band gets adjusted my relationship with food will drastically change but until then I am a work in progress. -
Normal for 1st Fill? My 1st Fill
Watchershrink83 replied to NewMeDebbie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Debbie, Debbie, Debbie...Thanks so much for posting this! I was starting to think I wasn't doing so hot as I haven't really lost any weight. I am glad to read that this time after the band has been placed is all about the healing. Thanks also for describing the appointment in detail, I was worried about what my first fill would be like. I'm so happy to know that it won't be as terrible as I was thinking. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles also. Thanks again! -
You go girl! Make sure HE gets his Vitamins in, he's going to need them!!
