    I actually dislike unjury. I don't know if it is because I mixed it with water. how did everyone else make their shakes?

    Not losing weight

    I was told the reason i only lost 2lbs in one month. I was told to increase my exercising to five days a week for at least an hour and to make sure I get the proper protein and eat protein first.

    my journey has been ok. It's a lot of accountability that you have to take on in order for your band to work. Making sure you get your Protein and work out. The worst things for me have been trying to stick to my diet when my family is being a bad influence and the fill I had was painful.

    first fill

    I had my first fill today and it wasn't fun. I have two bruises and two bandages over my port. I had to get them standing up. I am going to try to work with the fill i received so that I can stay away from being prodded with that big darn needle. I was livid when I saw that I only lost 3.2 pounds but now that I think about it. I dont feel bad about it. I look great in my old clothes and I can go down stairs without sweating. I was told to stop with the bread, rice and pasta.. I had my hand slapped for that one. I was also told to exercise five days a week for at least an hour. so starting next week that is my new goal.

    the two bandages covered the two bruises and where she stuck me twice. I just didnt show the pic with the bruises because It had a bit of my boob poking through. its looking better.

    @ angemc, I was eating 1200 cals but feeling slightly hungry quicker. 2-3 hours after depending on what i ate. I felt like i needed a fill because I was able to eat a full chicken breast and half a cup of veggies and still felt like I could eat more. but I am still learning the difference of being full and being satisfied because I associate being full with being satisfied. When I feel like its in my throat I just take two sips of water. wait five minutes and then try again. @ sol, HIIII SOOOLLLL. lol The needle was like four to five inches long. she was literally jabbing the heck out of me. I was laying down at first and then When I asked her to stop she had me stand up. I still have a little soreness to that area but it is tolerable. she is the only person who administers the shots.

Okay, here are a few things I want to do once I reach my weight goal. wear a bikini. walk in high heels comfortably. do a marathon run/walk for a charity. to be able to run around and play with my little sister without being out of breath or lack of energy. be more confident. to stop hiding behind my laptop and enjoy life. to look and the mirror and be happy with what I see. to go to my high school reunion as the new me. to go back to school and be able to fit in those awful desk. to do a cycling class to be healthy I've got a long way to go before I reach any of those goals but for right now I have smaller goals that are achievable for right now. Refer to my blog before this blog. I think a list of goals can be helpful especially if you are serious about reaching them.

    That's what I think this site is about. Helping other by telling our personal experiences with the band. Everyone is different but sometimes it can be helpful.
  13. I like the granola bars but they do not really provide a good amount of protein. I am trying to get some ideas of really good protein bars that might be similar to quakers granola bars.

    I think it is wonderful that you can openly admit that you have been overeating. I am having that issues right now too. I am eating the portions my doc. suggested but for some reason I feel super hungry after 2-3 hours. I fear that if I eat again tonight I will stretch my band or ruin my calorie intake. I am just going to reboot tomorrow and hop everything works out. I hope someone can provide helpful tips to help you out.

    Food addiction

    I am 39 days into being banded and today I struggled. I am on a low carb/ no sugar diet plan and I had two slices of bread with my chicken. I kind of feel like I am getting hungrier a lot often. every 2-3 hours. I don't want to keep shoveling food into my mouth esp since I am only working out once a day three times a week. I feel like I am battling with food addiction. I mean I have never had any issues with food thus far. I am just genuinely worried that if I eat again tonight I might eat too much. I am looking forward to having my first fill in five days. I am hoping that I will get the restriction I need and to be able to get satisfied and start making my mark. I didnt want to get into the habit of weighing myself but I am flirting with the idea of buying a scale. Idk what I am doing wrong. I eat my 60g of protein. I eat my protein first. I am making healthy choices minus the bread. Maybe I am just obsessing right now. I need to breathe and relax. I think I will be much better once I see my doctor and dietician. I am hoping I make it to my first goal of reaching 299 by my appointment. I would be sad if I dont reach my goal. I love seeing them happy when I show up and surpass their expectations. So, Ive been thinking about my goal list I previously had. I think some of it is unrealistic. Goal 1- is to go from 310 to 299. by the first of september. I've been working on it since July first. Goal 2- work out starting in one week four times a week for an hour. Goal 3- Avoid bread, pasta and rice. Goal 4- Have fun more. Goal 5- take more pictures to have as a guide on how much I have loss. the rest will be updated at a later date.

  18. I could not tolerate anything for a week and a half. I couldnt stand the way my Protein shakes tasted and I couldn't get my Water in. I would try to sip it slowly and still couldn't get more than 2oz of protein and water down per day. I thought I was dehydrating. I purchased some low calorie gatorade and lots of sugar free Jello, Popsicle and oatmeal, mashed potatoes. It really did help me out a lot during the next four days. Then I started solids. Each day It got better just keep sipping and make sure you are listening to your body. I wouldn't recommend fish at 7 days post-opt. I would try mushy foods since that generally is the next step after liquid,but that is what my doctor recommended for me. you should try to talk with your doctor to see what he or she suggest.

    Exercising

    I know everyone uses different exercising methods but I am curious to know what works best for you? I use the treadmill only because I am short and it's the only machine that I don't have to over adjust just to work it.
