My heart goes to you, It is really a game the insurnace companies play and they have no heart connection to you as a human being they are only concerned with the dollars. I too am being put through the insurance game they play but mine want 5y documentation.. Really? Please be encouraged and try Weight Watchers on line while you are out of town, the steps you take documenting now will help you in the long run. Sending prayer your way and a big hug too!

This is crazy, before I started my journey I spoke to the insurance company and asked what they required and they didnt list a 5 yr diary and to top it off this 5 yr diary is not listed on the insurance website for requirments!! I just called my surgeon office to find out what is going on with my approval it has been 14 days so I wanted to know. To which I found out that insurance hasnt declined my surgery they just want a diet journal of the last 5 years of my diet since I had the lapband. How do I do that? Most of the time I was compliant then when I had complications from my lapband I could barely keep food in. If I eat Protein, chicken, hamburger, steak, turkey what ever I would never know if this is the meal that would make me throw up. Some times it would be 5 minutes after eatting other times it could be up to 20 minutes after eatting. So did I keep a journal, no.. Now what do I do? The cordinator is telling me I had no idea your insurance would ask for this. And my response is Cant my Dr do a peer to peer with the insurance on my behalf? So now i wait, broken hearted. If anyone has come accross this problem with insurance can you please tell me what to do? I want to call my insurance and say are you kidding me? Really, I had a faulty lapband I was lucky if I could keep my food down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Heartbroken.

Fred, Thank you.. I will call tomorrow and speak with the insurance and see exactly what they are requiring from me as far as wheat I have done to keep the weight off. I have BCBS Anthem insurance.

I saw a documentary on this and the amount of soy needed to raise estrogen is super high. I would like to add that there are alot of foods with extra additives of soy, especially in Protien shakes, tuna, coffee creamers to add a few. Most people think soy is healthy so add more of it, not always true. A few years ago I felt like the walking dead, come to find out I was allergic to soy!! Then for the first time in my life put on Thryoid Rx, and bio-identicals to help balance the damage done by soy additives. * Check out Stop the Thyroid madness do some research for your self and have your hormone leves and thyroid rechecked. Most times a simple CBC blood test will not show how low you are on your thyroid. So an Endocrinologist can do more test and help you get your enegy levels back to normal.

Flattered...anyone who is insulted is taking themselves a bit too seriously. My best advice is for every ounce of extra attention you get...give 2 ounces worth to your wife to keep her from worrying about it all. Butterbean- you know the right way to treat your wife!! I have to say having worked in the medical profession and many years in a Hospital most people are not rude, they are in the healthcare profession to help others. But there are some people who are hard and calous and they do get away with murder with their words that cut like a two edge sword.

So I went to my Doctors to get an Xray of my foot, since I used to be a Xray tech I asked to view my film. I have a bone spur in my heal, no wonder it hurts to walk. Then this Older Slender Nurse ask me why I am in here I tell her to get my foot look at and to get Doc's approval for VSG surgery. She give me this look.. Ya all know the look. Then she hits me with Well you know you can fix that. But I am not supposed to say anything but "Off the Record".. Wait for it... Remember I am in a gown and I can't leave, I am captive to hear what she says... She blurts Out "There are no FAT Pows. Really, I must have given her a look lady ya gotta be kidding me. I almost hit the floor. Then she point to her mouth and says If ya dont put it in here, it cant come out here and she points to her bottom. Ok, beem me up scotty before I "off the record, Kill someone!!" I smile and walk out her Xray lab as fast as i can limp. Slowly i get release to go back to my Dr and get the referrals I need in order to check of the Pre-Op list of to do's. Seriously, What would you have done?

My doctor says he will do both surgeries at the same procedure.

Congrats on your surgery, Hope the pain goes away as fast as it came in. thank God for family being there with you and bringing you chicken soup, what a sweet daughter and strong Hubby too.
