  6. Misty, Oh my goodness this is a hard place to live in and my heart goes out to you and your hubby. It may be time to sit down and have a heart to heart tell him truthfully that you do not need him to constantly remind you or police you about your food intake. Ask him to shift the conversation from focusing on food and change it to positive renforcement such as the new challenge you want to take on. Ask him if he wants to continue living in the past where as you we all know before the sleeve he thought his comments how ever so from the heart where just that in the past. You have turned the corner to a healty lifestyle and you both need to embrace to future not the past. The past judgements, suttle and not so suttle hints etc. Best of luck to you both!

    Band to sleeve success question....

Johnny it is preety tricky with insurance many state that if you have comobities then no problem you can have revision surgery. The other key is that your bmi must be over 40% in order for them to agree/ approve the sleeve revision after lapband. If I may suggest save yourself the heart ech and go for the sleeve. I had the lapband in 09 lost 60lbs followed my doctors advice to the tee it took 2 years to reach 60lbs lost then my band began to leak which no one would admit too. I had to be sneaky and go to a radiologist who removed all the saline then refilled it to 9cc my next visit showed only 3cc of saline in my port. My dr denied many times that there was a leak and the proof was all documented. The worst part was feeling as I had failed yet again a diet and lapband experience. It wasnt me. I got a second oppion and now after 7 months of working toward the goal of getting my lapband removed and I sleeve revision surgery done it is next month. The journey has been hard, extremely hard and many people I know just give up. So please research, pray and research some more. Find on the boards someone who has the simular medical history Height and weight and ask questions. Many here on the site will tell you the truth. Good luck.

  11. I completley understand that waiting for insurance approval to come through can be such a stressful time. Hang in there. Sending prayers your way!
  12. Oh girl you are preaching to the choir!! I too went through all of this, and it was a hard road I am not going to lie to ya. At my last visit to my doctors office I realize something Insurance companies do not care about your quality of life, they do care about the $$ and it is so sad. So if you are still fighting mad for your own health you may want to try getting a lawyer. That is what I had to do. http://wlsappeals.com they have different prices and really do help. So do your research and see if it is a fit for you. Hang in there and remember you are worth it!
  13. Fiddleman~ Comfy robes are the best. And you can take your leather jacket and get it altered.
  14. Curious, did any one take Nexuum for the gas during their hopsital stay?
  15. Whoa!! Congrat's on your surgery date. I'll be around the corner from ya on the 17th!
  16. gbatman, Your wife looks amazing! I agree with the others give your clothes to the womens or mens shelter also homeless centers would be glad to have clothes. As for thrift stores that make a profit, make sure to give to one that gives back to the community! If your clothes are just starting to be a bit to big you can always have them altered too.
