So how are you feeling now? Hope all is well. My surgery is in 5 days and I have had the lapband in since 04, can not wait to have it removed.

when you add crushed ice to the mix it makes it like a shake. Also make sure to add chicken & beef broth to your unlfavored protein diet. Variety help beat insanity.

5 day count down for me. And I am getting excited and nervous all at the same time. The only problem is the hospital wont let me daughter come and send me off to surgery with a hug and a kiss so that part is a hard one.

One thing you need to do is FORGIVE yourself and get right back on track.

I have a lil girl 8 yr and she has been worried too. I told her not to worry mommy will be fine and we will do skype from the hospital. The only fear she has is being at a friends for 2 days instead of 1 night. It helped her knowing I will leave her with my pillow and she will give me one of her stuffy's (stuffed animals) to snuggle while I am in the hospital. Also we have been praying for eachother for peace and for mommy to return quickly so that has helped.

Nothingupmysleeve, Hang in there. Please talk with your doctor/Nut and tell them what is going on. Perhaps you need to have your CBC blood panels done make sure your not low in VitD or Vit B also have them check your hormones and your thyroid all of these things can add to the slow process of loosing weight. And a major anger too. If you get these all in balance you will see that everything will fall into place. Pleae be encouraged!

Thank you for this post it really helps. I have a few question for you? I am curious, what was the best advice you got before your surgery? How did you handle those pesky coworkers who ask you questions about your weight loss? HO wmuch time did it take before you were able to drive?

I'm out of the hospital now. Had a couple spoons of broth. I'm scared to swallow my pain meds so I'm trying to deal without. I just do not see how I will get all my Protein and Water in. I can only sip a little then stop. I also can't lay down. When I do it feels like everything is coming back up! Ugh I'm in the regret phase right now! Sending prayers your way!! Sure hope you feel better soon and that the pain goes away.

I agree with the others. I too was told to get the bypass but after doing alot of research on the bypass I decided I didnt want to go to the extreme of having my intenses scrabbled around to make it all work. Also after having many issues with the lapband Ie: what you can and can not eat and not being able to swallow pills or other foods I decided to make the best choice for me. What would be the safest route for me to take where the food I ate acutally worked for my body. Malabsorption was also a big factor too. I did have to have major testing done to make sure I didnt have acid reflux and once that was cleared I was okayed to get the sleeve.Glad to hear you are getting a second opinion

My heart goes out to ya, I cant have my little one hug me because her little arms hit me at the port sight and then the pain is so bad It feels like someone punched me there.. Ya know the pain that almost makes ya have to pee.. She learned to give hugs that were side hugs looking forward to no laband pain!! Good luck with your sleeve surgery!!

yep.. I got denied at 215 with previous weight issues. Sometimes they want you to weight 40 BMI each insurance company is different. Good luck to ya
