Dehydrated
BellaHugz replied to Amanda Nicole Hosaflook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with RJ, I used to hate gatorade but now I make sure to drink i bottle a day to stay hydrated. I even have on my bedside so at night when i feel my hydration levels are low i just take a few sips and it really helps. Hope you feel better soon!! -
Yes, I was talking about the exterior of my stomach scar. My lapband was in '09 and the interior of my stomach had scarring but I had all the scar tissue removed and sleeve done in one surgery. The doctor said it took 1 1/2 hours for both the removal and revision. I am so Thankful that i could have it all done at once. I did my best on my pre-op fasting diet too to shrink my liver too. Alot of prayer went into this and i was truly thankful for my new sleeve!

OVER A MONTH POST OP AND NO CHANGE!
BellaHugz replied to sleevinIT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Journaling will help you especially when you see the scale move, you will be able to see Hey what did i do yesterday that was so good. And you will be able to see what you ate, what you drank and the real skinny is how much did you move. Buy a cheap memo pad, take measurments of your self, height weight etc. Then journal your intake, also take this journal to the Dr with you when you go it will hlp you be accountible and show him the great work you have done!! Now get back up on that saddle baby!! This meal, this time, it is all for you!! Work it!! -
I had a larger scar from my lapband after my revision I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that the doctor removed my 1wide scar to a minimal line scar. Doing the Happy Dance!

relationships: I'm getting sleeved, but he/she's NOT!
BellaHugz replied to A_ReNUDE_me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Funny my hubby heard me say my that the scale is going down and I was 204 what does he do? He runs over to the scale and comes out with a big sigh & smile I looked at home and said whats up? He says a few days ago I was 204 too now I am 198lb. Let the healthy competion begain. Now I've gotta learn to be quiet and not jump for joy when the scale goes down or Let's be real when it does do it in silence. And I also have to learn to start cooking better for my family! -
Buy him wireless headphones too. When my hubby wants to stay up a little a later then me i put a blanket up like a little wall and fall fast asleep. The peace maker was the headphones and both of us compromising. I put on an eye mask if he is into a movie and he wears the headphones, if he up longer then 2 hours then off to couch he goes.

Is anything wrong with using Whey Protein?
BellaHugz replied to Babypee49's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Whey protein is a great way to get your protein in. I am allergic to soy and that also leads to problems with estrogen over load or shut down. So for me whey protein is an amazing choice to use for weight loss. -
I didnt have a drain. Also had the leak test done while in surgery to double check if there was any leaks Yay no leaks. I chose to stay 2 days since my surgery was 2 hrs away from my home. My recovery was easy.

I had my medical clearance today and was shocked at what the Nurse Practitioner said to me...
BellaHugz replied to gohelpyourself's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr is one of the pioneers of the wls field infact he has doctors from all over the world come to learn from him and his staff.I double checked his stats and also found out from friends and family who have gone to this surgeon. So it was worth the 2 hour drive to have my surgery and it was done at a heart hospital too. It is very encouraging to know I am and was in the right hands and believe me after having the lapband removed this surgery was night and day. I was walking with in hours, my pain mgmt was handled very well and the sweeling of my stomach was half of what i thought it might be. Wishing you the very best experince during your surgery! -
All I can say is contact your doctor who did you surgery, then contact your Obgyn see what you should do next based on the knowledge of wht the professionals say. Then talk with your hubby and find peace with your decesion. Praying for you to find peace and knowledge during this time in your life.

I had my medical clearance today and was shocked at what the Nurse Practitioner said to me...
BellaHugz replied to gohelpyourself's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girl, can we talk? My primary care physician older nurse told me when i 1st started this journey for the sleeve "There are no fat POWs.." I was shocked, hurt and insulted all at the same time that I couldn't even respond. My best response will be the success of this sleeve!! -

Scars and new incision locations
BellaHugz replied to jnlebean's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
the funny thing is my lapband scar was larger then my sleeve revision scar. How'd that happen? But i do have afew more little lines and I am using aquaphor to help the healing process along. -
I still have pain too on the left side but I figure it is not as much pain as having the lapband in. Thank you Jesus!! I found that adding crystal light energy flavors to my water help me get the water in and they add to the energy too. Who knew! My NP said it was ok, so I am glad I added them.

Protein make the body good. check with your Dr or NP to see if you can add some vit b12 into your diet. It helps with energy too.

Surgery on Wednesday! OMG
BellaHugz replied to eyoung's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yay, happy dance for ya! At the hospital they will let you know what you can have the clear menu is what I was put on. And I found the popscicles a big treat. The tray of food took over an hour to finish and just when you do finish your meals you want to fall asleep and the nurse pop in with pain medication. So it's all good!
