Band to sleeve on wednesday, advice?
BellaHugz replied to wwled's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Erin, Oh how I can relate to what you are saying the most I lost on the sleeve was 60lbs and that took 2 yrs to get too since my ex Dr was slow to do fills. When the the throwing up problems would happen my life and nutrition took a dive it is a wonder I made it through the pain and embarrasement of the failed lapband. I agree with the others getting my lapband to sleeve revision on 1/17 was the best thing I ever did for myself!! It is amazing how good I felt after surgery, and I was shocked how my stomach looked after the sleeve surgery! I compare the two surgerys like that of a pinto and a cadillac surgery and recovery for me. I was up and walking the hallways with in a few hours and I was so happy with my decesion to do the sleeve surgery! My New doctor and his team were the dream team of care. Plus having a surgery suite to recover didnt hurt either. After a few days in the hospital the recovery at home is harder because of the exhaustion and tryng to get your liquids in. Make sure you get up and walk push your self to do small trips around the house to build up your endurance! Best of luck to you and your new sleeve! -

Please help: how to not feel like a failure?
BellaHugz replied to Nerva Harrison's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh girl can we talk? Really, I have tried and succeeed at most diets I have tried. To many to talk about and the cost is really more then i care to say it was up in 30k range. The problem with the word diet is it is a 4 letter word and not a lifestyle change. Having the sleeve gave me a 2nd chance at life and that is really important to me since my dad died at a young age of obesty complications. So now i have the tool to change my life and the destiny of my life not to repeat the same mistakes of my father. Is it important to me do make the changes, YES. I have a young daughter and I want to dance at her wedding, watch her graduate from college and more importantly I want to do my best not to have her repeat the words, I wish Mom was here to share in my life! So take the time to make a lifestlye change and remember "your worth it"! -
I am a revison patient from lapband to sleeve. Having had the sleeve surgery almost 2 1/2 weeks ago. I am so Happy that i had the oppurtunity to have a 2nd chance at weight loss and longer life!! Happy, Happy, Joy joy!!

Cowgirl Jane you are one of my favorite ladys to listen to for words of wisdom. Today is a new day and it starts "Right Now" this meal, limit you carb intake and know that when you have alcohol it take 3 days to clear out of your system so you will start seeing the weight loss come back on the scale. Thought a cold beer does sound good it is a treat and you enjoyed it, simple. Dont beat your self up over it. Now that is a new day just get back on track and be encouraged all your hard work will keep you going on the path you were meant to be on!!

You need to look back and reflect on how much weight you gained when you did have all those Snacks. This year reward yourself with a treat of a new outfit, manicure or a facial. Change your mindset from not loosing to not gaining and count that as a reward. Also take out the measuring tape and see if your body changed and shrunk. Usually the Nsv are just as great to Celebrate as the LBs dropping. Embrace your new lifestyle, your doing great!! -
oh man Miss Mac, ya got me laughing on this one. Not at you but honestly with you!! Out of all your exercise dvd which one did you find was the best for arms and over all workout? I ready and willing to get up and do more now so any advise would be great.

Undecided lap band vs sleeve
BellaHugz replied to Laurensloss's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I had the lapband and it was slow and steady to get my fills every two months. I too thought the way you do now. However after years of going through so much and never getting the sweet spot of fills then leaking and kinked lapband. My spirit was broken I was lead to believe I had done something wrong. It took awhile to get enough strengh in my heart to fight for me and get what it took to get this lapband out of me and the sleeve done. When I woke up two weeks ago from having the revision surgery I felt great! I was walking the hallways and told the staff and doctors this time my surgery felt like I had Cadillac treatment vs Pinto treatment in level of care and how i felt as a patient. My stomach was flatter then when i had the lapband. I am a Happy Camper!! Good luck in your decesion for what is right for you. Do alot of research and by all means pray about before you decide. -
Still can't drink
BellaHugz replied to Amanda Nicole Hosaflook's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You might need to start sipping on some Gatorade G2, they also have sugar free too. It helps so much with hydration and you dont wont to end up back at the hospital for dehydration. I agree with others the warm of beef brooth is so nice on your stomach, just drink slow and steady. Sending healing prayers you way! -

Out of the mouth of babes, what a beautiful story. Luv , Luv , Luv this!! Cant wait to hear about you adventures this summer! -
I agree I am a very private person and i only told my husband, my daughter and two very supportive friends this time around with the sleeve. When my inlaws knew about my lapband every success moment I had they would comment on or just give me that look. So this time I decided not to give those who dont support my efforts any information. When I get down to my goal I might share. It depends how I feel. Just got to remember true friends will support you and those that Hate will continue to be Haters.
