Thanks. I think I am going to be one of those people who has an unfill when I am pregnant. I would be worried that I wouldn't get enough nutrition otherwise. Thank you so much for your input and for thinking it is good I like to think ahead most people just think it is weird.

I'm truly glad you found what works for you. I think the key here is- what works for you. Everyone has to figure out what works for them and their specific body. Sadly, dieting isn't a one size fits all thing. No people are exactly alike so no one diet works for everyone.
For me, high fat/protein low carb (Atkins) doesn't work at all. I did lose about 40 pounds following this plan however I also ended up with a major kidney infection due to a build of up of Protein and high cholesterol. Of course, once I stopped the diet I gained it all back and then some, too.
I guess that's why I love my band. Not only has it helped me lose over 220 pounds but it will help me keep it off too. I've lost tons of weight over the years on various diets but always gained it back once I stopped the diet. With the help of my band- I'm no longer on a diet. I changed my lifestyle. There's no diet to rebound off of and gain the weight back.
Took the words out of my mouth, everyone is different. I also like that your posts always seem encouraging and helpful not critical or judging. Thank you so much for being straight forward and positive it is an encouragement to me.

I have united healthcare I was wondering if anyone has had trouble getting their insurance to pay for fills? if it is out of pocket about how much does a fill cost?
-
Thanks. I am not banded yet and I am not pregnant yet either but I always like to plan ahead and look at all the angles of things.

Should someone who is breastfeeding have a partial or full unfill?

We have both but the wii fit has a weight restriction so I can't use it at my current weight.... I can still do the just dance games on wii though, the xbox games are fun. The wii games are easier to cheat on but with the xbox connect it is a camera sensor so no cheating lol.

You could ask if you could use plastic studs.... it is probably because if some thing goes wrong they dont want to deal with the chance of not being able to do x-rays or something.

Thanks for your input. My major reason for getting healthy is for my two kids and so we can add to our family with me being healthy. Can anyone chew like normal with the band unfilled or do you still have tp chew, chew, chew?

I am not yet banded but i was wondering when you have your band unfilled like for pregnancy and such can you eat normal again. Like eating bread and carbonation?

I have united health care and I know they will pay for the surgery because it is preventative but i am concerned they wont pay for the tests that lead up to it I know they don't pay for normal labs except for the once a year bio-metric screening the y require to stay insured.

I was going to keep mine a secret but I figured that there is no point I am bad with secrets and my kids would never keep it a secret anyway. There is a certain rush in sharing your decision with others. With people who you love and people who love you.

Thanks for the info I use an app called lose it. My husband and I are going to use it together now so he can support me. Anyone else use Lose it?
-
I talked to my doctor today and we are working toward lap band surgery. In the meantime she wants me to start tracking my calories and start weight watches and use an app like lose it. she also said it would help to start cutting out some things i wont be able to have once I am banded and trying some new things that I will need such as Protein Shakes. I am tracking my calories, fat, Fiber, and Protein. I have enough calories to add a Protein Drink but that would put my protein intake today at 138 g. is that bad for me? Will it make me gain weight even though I am within calories for the day?

Good luck to you. I know it has to be done and why I just feel like I a going to sound stupid. I feel like i'm in grade school all over again... Thanks so much for your well wishes and support

I am nervous/ embarrassed to talk to my Dr. today It is the first time I am talking to her about a referral. I really hope having WLS will help my back problems I have not slept well in over a week.I have been obese most of my life but it has always been something I don't talk about. Did anyone else feel this way or am I the only one? Do you have any advice? anything I should ask her or talk to her about?

I have about the same to lose and I am Just starting the banding process. It made me really depressed when I was talking to my cousin about it and realized I could lose 2 times her weight (107) and still be overweight... I am trying to keep my chin up and stay positive there is no other way. I am nervous/ embarrassed to talk to my Dr. today It is the first time I am talking to her about a referral. I really hope having WLS will help my back problems I have not slept well in over a week. Sorry to vent I just wanted to say I am here for you and I wish you the best.

I was raised with the clean your plate rule but my parents served out our huge portions.... I don't allow my kids to waste food but they choose thier portion and I always remind them to start off small you can always add but it is hard to subtract food from your plate.
