Lellow I haven't had a fill in a while, but all of a sudden I don't get hungry. My stomach growls, but I really don't care for food. This has been happening for a month now, and I have lost 12 pounds. I am forcing myself to eat. However, I only need a bite or two of something and I feel super full. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I am only saying that sometimes we do need to force ourselves to eat because we cannot afford to get dehydrated or malnourished. I can't explain what's happening, but if this is the Green Zone, thank you Jesus!

The first 3-6 months after surgery, I lost 36 pounds. I gained 16 back. It has been a very slooooow weight loss process for me. Now, all of a sudden one year and 4 months after surgery (June 28, 2013) I have restriction and can only eat a bite or two of anything and feel FULL for many many hours. Needless to say, I have lost about 12 pounds in only one month.

I had my fourth fill two weeks ago. Since I was on liquids for two days, I lost 3.4 pounds. Then, two days later, I weighed myself and I had lost another 3 pounds. I was soooo happy! But, then something happen. A week after, I gained it all back, plus two more pounds for a total of 7 pounds. What the heck? Today, I started feeling a lot of restriction. I was only able to eat 1/3 of my food. Now, I find myself eating a lot less than before, so I'm really hoping to lose some weight soon.

February Challenge-Happy Valentine's Day!
Heccat2 replied to lisaholland73's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know what's happening, but I keep gaining and gaining. I had a fill about two weeks ago. The first three days, I lost 5 pounds. I was sooooo happy! A few days later, I'm up the 5 pounds I lost plus two more pounds. That's unbelievable! How can I gain 7 pounds in less than a week? Even at my highest weight of 206, I NEVER gain more than two pounds a week. What the heck is going on? -

Happy 2014 January Challange

Don't fret! I gained 10 pounds since November. Trying really hard to get back on track. Had a very bad experience after my last fill. My doctor had to unfill me twice and as a result, I can't stop eating. Anyway, I hope I can make an appointment for next week. Keep your head up! -
Hello everyone. I am so upset about what happened to me today. First, let me begin by telling my story: About 2 months ago, I had my third fill. My doctor has been aggressive with the fills from the very beginning. Always adding 2.0 cc at a time. The last fill took me over the top. I was so tight, that I had to go back to the office twice to get Fluid removed from my band. When I was tight, it was difficult for me to swallow food and liquids. I had a doctors appointment for December 2, but I had to reschedule that appointment for personal reasons. They could not fit me in until today, January 6th. As always, I had to take time off from work. I keep reading on this forum that we need to take control of our band, and today that's exactly what I did. I told the nurse that I was going to speak to the doctor because I am no longer going to allow him to fill me without asking me how I'm feeling. All my doctor does is say: "lay down" fills me and then sends me to the waiting area to drink Water. He never asks me about hunger, portions, or anything else. He does not tell me how many cc's I have unless I ask him. Since I did not want what happened the last time to happen again, I told the nurse that I was not laying down, and that I wanted to speak to the doctor about my concerns. I told her that the doctor makes me feel like all he cares about is money (I am self pay and I have to pay $200 for each fill). When the doctor walked in the room, he seemed indifferent. He asked me what was wrong and why did I look mad. I told him that I wasn't mad, but concerned. That I did not want to be filled too much because I did not want to go through what I went through the last time I went in for a fill. He became very upset (I think his nurse told him what I had told her). Anyway, he refused to fill me, and instead sent me for an X-ray. I asked him why I was being sent for an X-ray, and he said that he needs to make sure that everything is okay with my band. I asked him, what made him think something was wrong, and he said that the last time I had a fill, I couldn't get anything down. I responded by reminding him that I couldn't get anything down because I was too tight. He said that I needed the X-ray, whether I agreed I needed one or not, and that he's not going to have his patients vomiting after a fill. I told him that I have never ever vomited in the six months I've had the band and that I didn't know why he was diagnosing me with vomiting when I have never vomited. There was so much confusion with the back and forth. He was very upset with me and spoke so loud that I'm sure all his other patients heard him. I do not mind getting an X-ray because I would be happy to know that everything is ok with my band, but don't say that you are sending me for one because of vomiting when I have NEVER vomited! Nevertheless, I go in for the X-ray tomorrow morning, and I was informed by hospital staff that I have to pay 30% of the bill which comes out to $591.00. This is ridiculous! Now, I have to pay, almost $600, plus the $200 to him if I get the fill, plus take some time off from work again.

Jami I am sooo happy for you! Keep up the good work! -
Thank you a Terry! I already had the X-ray done for my own sanity. Thank God everything is great! My band is where it's supposed to be, there's no slip nor any dialation. Now, I'm just going to sit and wait to see how long it's going to take him to respond to me. In the meantime, I'm going to try my best to do what I can on my own. I will also start looking for other doctors. The doctor who saw me at the hospital today, told me what I already knew: that I was too tight. I go back to what I said before, I think that he was trying to make me mad for what I said.

Hello everyone. I have been gone from the forum for about two months, during which time I was suffering a serious "too tight" issue. As a result, my doctor had to remove most of the liquid in the band. Since then, I have gained 7 pounds from overrating and making bad food choices. However, I am determined to make this year the best ever! Today, I will begin to take control over my life and my health with a vengeance. I realized that I did not spend ten thousand dollars or more to gain the weight back after making it half way to my goal weight! I know I can turn this around, I just need to be strong and stay on this forum for the support I need. Today, I will start going to the gym. After Almost 2 Years, I'm Starting Over

Hello everyone! Been gone for awhile. Had a real bad episode of being too tight, and the doctor practically took out almost all of the liquid I had in my band. Since then, I can't stop eating large portions no matter how hard I've tried. As a result, I've gained back between 5-7 pounds. I tried making an appointment for a fill for December 9th, but they couldn't schedule me in. So, I've waited patiently for a month, but it's been really bad. With the holidays and all, I've made some really bad food choices (cake, chips, and candy). Now, I am determined to start all over again! I am scheduled for a fill on January 6th. I am going to the gym every day if I have to, and I'm going to gain the support of my family and coworkers to keep away from tempting foods. I am so glad for this forum and the people in it. You all make our goals possible, and our struggles with weight loss bareable. Thank you ALL, and I wish you the best this New Year! May we all reach our goals, and fulfill our dreams of living a successful and healthy life. I am so ready for January's challenge. Meet you on the skinny side. Hugs and kisses to all. -
Agree completely!

After Almost 2 Years, I'm Starting Over
Heccat2 replied to ladybanded's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Lady! It has been six months for me. I lost 40 pounds and gained 4 back recently. I tried to get a fill two weeks ago, but was told I couldn't until January 6. I can't wait for it! I am not hungry but find myself making a lot of bad food choices. Mostly junk food. You are correct when you express how difficult it's going to be during the holidays. I am traveling to New York in two weeks, and my parents love to spoil me with my favorite foods. I made a decision to just enjoy myself knowing that I'm going in for a fill a week after my return. Good luck! I really wish you the best! -

Still struggling between 169 and 170. -
Beach, I'm going through the same thing. Can't wait to get some fluid in again. However, how much, I do not know, but I'm not allowing my doctor to make the decision for me since he is quite aggressive with fills. He normally likes putting in 2-3 cc at a time. Not me! I will tell him to put only 1 cc. If water goes down well, good! If not, I'll have him remove .5 cc. It's my band, and my body! Plus, I'm self pay, so he's not going to tighten me up like before.
