I was noticing the NSV of seeing my stomach go down for the past four weeks. However, as of Saturday, my stomach has dramatically inflated. What could be happening?

Mrsinto., I forgot to thank you for responding.

I only use the treadmill. I stay on it for 60 minutes. Last week, I started using the elliptical machine, but I can only do five minutes. That thing hurts but I'm trying to get used to it because it is a real calorie burner!

I'm still fluctuating between 184 and 185. No weight loss! And it's only been 5 1/2 weeks since surgery. Argh!!!!!!!! I think I'm at yellow because I'm not hungry, but still not losing weight!

Melissa, I am experiencing the exact same thing! My doctor told me it was normal.

HotButterFly I only eat my mother's tripe. When I told her this past June that I was getting banded, I knew right then that I would never again have her tripe. I knew it because tripe is not something that could be chewed completely. I would not even dare try it! Good luck to you.

This CANNOT be happening :0

Chloe Hi! I am 5 weeks postop and I still struggle with watching the scale stay the same or go up and down constantly. I feel unsuccessful. However, I will believe what everyone else is saying and I'm going to accept their advice and band knowledge with open arms. I cannot wait to lose at least five pounds. That would make me very happy! -
Redren I'm not planning on telling people, but if anyone's asks me, I will be honest!

B-52 I'm glad that you mentioned this, because I ave never felt "full" either. I always make myself stop eating when I think I'm eating too much. Yesterday, was a very bad day for me since surgery. I had a small slice of pizza and some pasta. My stomach blew up like a balloon! I never had that happened before. Plus, I was very uncomfortable the whole night. I think I ate too much, and then the pain kicked in. Today, I have not even been hungry at all, and I have not eaten breakfast yet. I was thinking of having a protein shake. What are your thoughts?

I only told two coworkers, but unfortunately I know that one of them gossips so I know that everyone will find out.

Well, for the last three weeks, I've been very upset because the scale hasn't been moving, but all of a sudden (this week) since Monday, I have lost 2 pounds. Finally, some results! Yippee! BTW I was banded on June 28th. Total loss now = 22 pounds.

So sorry to hear that! Keep your head up, and please be strong for her and also for yourself! Don't give in to sadness and unhealthy food.

I've heard (through this forum) that we can never have soda (carbonated drinks).

Did you call your doctor?

My shine, I was going through the same thing and I had to go in the day after surgery to see my doctor. He had to remove the saline he had place in the band during surgery. A few hours later I had great relief! Good luck.

BigOBoy Hi! I think that you already know what's causing the problem...big bites and eating too fast! Last night I had the worse stuck episode ever! And I immediately realized that it was all my fault! I tried to eat a regular size piece of meat. After the episode, I sat down, cut the meat into tiny baby size pieces and I was able to eat without any problems. Of course I eat slowly and chewed as much as possible before swallowing. That meant that my food got really cold and it took me forever to finish, but I was able to eat without any problems and that's what's important, right? I know that it is hard to remember the smaller bites, but you will get used to it. Side note: my husband always gives me a bottle of Water when we sit down to eat dinner, and every time I have to remind him that I do not drink when I eat. Lol. The point is that even our friends and family members have to get used to OUR new eating habits and lifestyle. Good luck and be careful when you eat.

Good luck Joe! I can't wait to get my third fill on September 9th because I can eat anything.

I posted something similar a few days ago about not losing anything for three consecutive weeks soon after getting banded, but this week I lost 2 pounds.... It's going to come off. I believe it's our body healing as some band experts here have shared.
-
The doctor tells me the same thing....liquids after a fill for 24 hours and then a regular diet so long as I could tolerate it.
-
Aubrey222 Why do you assume something is wrong? I wish I could lose 6 pounds within the first week after a fill.

Finally the scale is moving...
