JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
GeorgeSeifert replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded July 12th. Absolutely starving all the time. Sick and tired of Popsicles and broth. Gas pain pretty severe still. All I know is, I can't just do liquids for another 12 days. -

Banded on july 11
GeorgeSeifert replied to Miss Mo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I just wanted to pike on. I too was banded on the 11 of July and the gas pains are horrendous. Other then that, doing pretty good. I screwed up and ate 1 day post op. I was starving. Enough about all that, I started a thread about it should you want to read it. I have no trouble eating Popsicles, Jello, and drinking broth and Water. The gas is not getting better, at all. Yes, I am walking. Please don't tell me to. I am. And drinking water. Here's my thing, try to follow along cause its a little weird. If they puff you up with gas, under your skin but not in your stomach, how does the gas escape? It can't get into your esophagus or intestine to escape. I asked a doctor about this and he couldn't answer it. Seriously, think about it. Just under your skin, above your stomach, they inflate us. The throat is sealed, your ass is sealed. Where can the gas go to escape? Anyhow, I hope this hunger thing subsides some and these gas pains reduce. My god, I now know what a heart attack feels like. Best of luck to all of you. FTR, I did have a small BM 1 day post op, it was 3 little marbles but I don't know we could be pooping. I had to be liquid diet 5 days prior. George -
Banded in Mexico yesterday. Awesome place, great people, amazing hotel. Got back to hotel room and walked a lot to relieve gas. Never did but it will soon. Problem is. I am starving. Ate pretzels and combos on plane ride home. Ate a tuna fish sand which when I got home. Maybe 38 hours after surgery. I plan to call them on Monday to see what is going on. I bought the X-ray and it show to be ok. It's not right. G

Omg. Thank you. All of you. I assumed (and we all know what happens when you do that) since my sister woke after being banded with no hunger or desire to eat, I would feel the same way. Their were over something people having surgery but I was the only one being banded. All the rest were sleeved so I was on my own. Since I was doing so good I was well, left to be on my own. I pray now I didn't do any damage but if I did, it's my own fault. Again, thanks for the help and ALL the advise. You guys are great!! I am back on liquids today and asked the surgery facility if I could introduce a small amount of Protein drink so I can my meds and not get sick. Of all the stuff I researched, I never heard of bandster hell or being this hungry post op. You all rock, thank again! G

So, any recommendations for a Doc in Phoenix area for those banded in Mexico? This thread is pretty old...
