how much u loose 1st week?
skb123 replied to rgkelley87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 20 pounds in the first 3 weeks. Things have slowed down but all is going well onward and downward little by little bit by bit! -
Don't worry as you become more active and start eating real food again your weight will go up and down. Best thing is stay away from the scale.. I only weigh once a month, and I also journal on my lose it app every bite, lick or taste of food that I eat. Many times when you start working out your weight will go up a little as muscle weighs more than fat. Measurements are more accurate that the scale really is.

Loosing weight and feel doughy!
skb123 replied to runt71's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Excess skin is my guess too. I have lost over 200 pounds 176 pre band and 36 post. My belly button went back where it belongs but dang it is funny looking! And the excess skin feels odd. No worries! -
My doctor said I had to drink 1 ounce of water every 15 minutes.. I had the same problem just one day and after that I really kept my eye on my intake. As long as your output is light in color you know you are getting enough fluids.

Finally got my band!!
skb123 replied to carrie.0508's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had a bad hiatal hernia repaired when they banded me. I have to say everything has gone smooth as silk since. I feel better than ever! You'll be fine, coughing will not cause your band to slip, you'll be just fine. Rest and give yourself time to heal. God bless! -
Well yesterday I had my second fill and they put in twice what they normally do on a second fill. But I seem to fill up very fast and stay full for several hours, Could it have really been just that easy?? I'm sure time will tell.

Hospital Bag for Outpatient Lap Band
skb123 replied to Ktigger92's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Personally I would also take a few extras just in case they keep you overnight. When I went in I expected to go home the same day but much to my surprise I had to stay the night and I was totally unprepared for that. Just a suggestion. -
My guy friend was my biggest supporter going into this. We have always shared food when eating out, only now I don't buy a meal one does us both! I tell him I'm a cheap date!! Have fun and don't let this be a stumbling block for your personal life, embrace it and move forward!

What can I do to get comfortable-3rd day post op
skb123 replied to Brooklenm's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept in my recliner for the first few days, and plenty of pain meds! But a few days out and all was well. I just takes time. -
You'll be fine, I went through all sorts of emotions before surgery, now I am so glad I did it. It is hard when those closest to you don't support you, I had problems with my daughters but my guy friend was super supportive so his support made up for the lack of support I got from family.

I like crunching up some special K and a few dried cranberries on mine, not as many calories as granola adds.

I've lost 200 pounds, 176 pre band, and I went from a 54DDD to a 36B! So for me I lost my chest but everyone is different. My daughter lost 100 pounds and didn't lose anything on top so it's really hard to say.
-
I lost 176 pounds on my own, and I just wanted to go for the goal. So I decided to get banded I lost 24 pounds in the first month after the band. I get weighed tomorrow so I'll see where I am now, but I felt it was the tool I needed to complete my WL journey, and help me to maintain. I have no regrets and I feel fantastic! So what ever you decide best of luck to you.

I have united health care and they paid 100% I only paid 2 dollar copays at my doctors office. My daughter had to get an attorney to get hers paid for, her surgery is not for 9 months though.

Just remember as you work out you gain muscle mass and muscle weighs more than fat and it takes muscle to burn fat. So don't get down on yourself just keep on going things will even out.
-
I take one bite chew the living daylight out of it and wait one minute to take my next bite, what my surgeon suggested. i was on liquids for a full month and the first day I could eat they did my first fill so it was back to liquids for a few days! Going in for a fill tomorrow so enjoying my food today!

Saw an Ex-boyfriend Yesterday
skb123 replied to PrettyThick1's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all, just avoid him. If you respond to his messages it will just open a door that you might not want to open. I have been in a healthy relationship for 3 years now, and he knew me before I lost 200 pounds so I feel real confident in our relationship. But sometimes he can seem distant, but he just likes to have his own space sometimes. Good luck! -
I own a wholesale bakery, so I took off more than I really needed to. My doctor said 1 week if you don't do physical work, if you do she said 2 weeks. I took nearly a month off, but I rarely take time off so it was more of a vacation than anything. Most of my travel is work related so it was nice to just be home for a while.

I have to say it has been nearly 2 months and I get gas more than I have ever before! I've just decided it goes with the territory!

Best wishes to you, All will be just fine, good luck! -
My doctor says just one cup a day,, because caffeine can cause dehydration. But I have pretty much gotten away from it, as I could not have it for the first 6 weeks I just sort of got out of the habit. However I went to coffee with my boyfriend tonight!!
-
My doctor required that you go to the weight loss management before I could see her. It was 4 appointments, my insurance did not require anything so it just took one month. But I know most insurance companies require 6 to 9 months of diet and t have you.wha

Why am I no longer feeling full?
skb123 replied to tmanning's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like it's time for a fill!! -
I had lost 176 pre banding, and lost another 24 pounds the first month after surgery. I have not weighed since my last doctors appointment but I don't fell like I have lost much this month, but I will know next week when I go in for my second fill.
