Dont No How To Feel At This Point
rmalikone replied to Pittsburgher's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pittsburgher, My doctor has offices in/near Jefferson, Sewickley, and Washington hospitals. (Hope Bariatrics) and I've had 4 adjustments and only 1 time has the PA given the fill, the Doctor/Surgeon mostly give the adjustments. As for any questions they answer them but since I've been banded in July, I mostly know most items and I always have come here to check and if need be to cross check. Remember your are the employer, you pay them for service. -
Dr Reckons Sleeve Is Best. Now Confused..
rmalikone replied to desertpixie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me it was the amputation, I just could not do that when the option of the "Band" was available. Yes each have numbers/data ... IMO and just for me it's was the lap-band that made sense. -
I would guess that as long as the new doctor has no problem then you shouldn't either. I had a similar question for my doctor as I have not gotten to the green zone and will be leaving the area for a long trip and he said as long as it's a bariatric doctor he has no problem.

It's when you eat to fast or do not chew well enough or try to eat a particular food that will no longer pass by your band.Thick secretions are produced which will be brought up.

Thinking Of Lapband In Nj..but Have Insurance Concerns..help!
rmalikone replied to NJMAMA's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was covered but after a period of time my fills and other appointments have a co-payment. As for your situation I would get your doctor to give you a detailed cost list including any hospital charges and I would also would contact the hospital and talk to them about costs also -

rmalikone replied to KSteele's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Originally from the "Burgh" and my surgery was at Jefferson by Century III. I had no pre-op diet. Doctor group was Hope Bariatics. -
Banded 11/4- Major Complications :(
rmalikone replied to skinnysomeday1211's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow if it was the small "lap band" that's a 10cc model and they had 11cc in-you should be pissed! As for having more than 1 band on hand I remember that after being wheeled into the OR and being knocked out I looked up and seen at least two "lap band" boxes. So that's another strike against your doctor for not having the 14cc model on hand also! -
I have been here only since June, and there may be some posters here that may rub you the wrong way, but like Missy stated - this isn't the best way to communicate nuance and feelings. You need a little tougher skin to be on any forum and as always you can take or leave any advice given. I myself think this is a very gentle forum. People can look at your statement and take you to task for you pointing fingers. Remember what go's around comes around.

Not sure if i need one more fill!
rmalikone replied to mommaband3's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have 4.25 in the 14cc band and have been stuck more after my last fill (#4) of .75cc. For me it's not eating slow enough, and I am just really learning about how the band works, till now didn't see any difference in what I could eat or how I ate! But because I've been the problem I will get another fill this coming week. -
I've had some small episodes before but ate 2 small flour tortilla and was stuck for an hour or so and it hurt about a 5/6 out of 10. Was his a bad episode? It was the worst I've had! The other day I had some baby carrots ate slow and chewed very well and got stuck anyone have a problem with carrots. I am not at the green zone yet, so I'm not over tight. (4.25 in a 14cc band)

Losing my monthly fills ins coverage due to Obamacare come Jan 2014
rmalikone replied to donna12's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I buy my insurance (BCBS) and ACA has nothing to do with MY insurance, I also have heard that if you are covered by your employer nothing will change either. On the other hand I also buy my wifes insurance and BCBS sent a letter saying that her policy will be dropped in a years time. Go figure my policy OK but hers isn't. And why do we still have 1 year? Had 3rd fill yesterday and had to pay a co-pay($30), my policy OK's first 3 month's of fills & from here on out I'll pay specialist co-pay rate. -

Hoping that politics stays out of the forum! People become defensive of their beliefs and will fracture the forum. To me it seems that there is a feel good vibe here and would hate to lose that. -
What do you order at restaurants after weight loss surgery?
rmalikone replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
When I'm good, I try to order the most healthy items I can & "when the Devil made do it" I eat whatever I want! For years I have eaten mostly good when dining out and still got fat by eating to much GOOD food. -
I would like to know how many people who have had lap-band success; who's main eating problems are grazing and night eating! That is still my problem even with the lap-band (2 fills only and very minor restriction). I want to see if some of the most known and successful members like - mis73, b-52, guymontag, lellow, carolinagirl, ladyvs,kll724, jean mcmillan, hazelsbliss ... had the same eating problem and how they succeeded. OF COURSE JUST BECAUSE YOUR NAME'S NOT IN THAT LIST ABOVE; doesn't mean that you should not respond! I need everyone's help!

Who has had success?

If you see B-52's pic, I think that bottle in his hand is a Bud Light Platinum!

IMHO a light beer or sugar free soda pop from time to time won't hurt. I'm not about torture!

Maybe it just younger males, as a fifty something we were taught to have some decorum, dependent on what crowd you are with. In mixed company you would not talk to suggestively! Even when around women with loose morals! That was for the bedroom. There is a time and place for everything. I see a problem with saying anything you want, that's why teens don't care if seniors or babies are around them; they drop F Bombs without a second thought. When my kids were babies it was sickening and later when mom was near 90 I was glad mom didn't hear so well! We were taught things (from older siblings and cousins) like when walking with your women that she was never to be on the outside of the sidewalk, you kept her from the street side to keep her safe and not open to cars passing by.Today things like that aren't passed down anymore, h#ll mother's I've seen don't keep their babies on the inside.

I looked at the menu and it can be done.

Sometimes people reading a response & see something in the statement that was not really there! Maybe as they read they hear it a certain way in their head. I have been guilty of this myself; in the early days of my forum use. You can not attach sentiment, and know for sure what the intent is.

Does the green zone have a feel? Remember the feeling right after surgery; the swelling made me NOT have a appetite, do you have that same feeling of what I call pressure or tightness. As my third adjustment is near I'm hoping to know what may be in the near future.

Thanks B-52 Hoping mis73, hazelsbliss and a number of other forum members that have found success will reply. I wanted to name quite a few other members that I read but having a senior moment!
