Embarrassed to go for a fill

I went for my fill, and they were very nice. They suggested severly limiting my carbs (until you get closer to your goal) and especially limit anything white. So, I am going to do that. Step up the exercise, and we shall see. I now have 4.5 cc in a 10 cc band. So, I am almost half way full? But I will not walk in that office next month with anything but a loss. that's my goal. It may only be a pound (hopefully more), but I am going to be more vigilant thanks, everyone for being so supportive. My surgeon had to leave early which was fine becuase the nurse did my fill. It went great!
  2. Hi everyone. I have had two fills. I have lost about 30 pounds in total, but between the last fill and this one, I have not. I have maybe gained a pound even! I know what I have to do, but I'm embarrassed to go for a fill since I haven't lost. Anyone else feel this way ever ? I was banded nov 25 2013 and am happy, just a little disappointed in myself. I know I am not in the green zone yet. I know I am going to have to make pickier food choices......

Finding The Lap Band Green Zone

I too had a small fill, but feel no difference. I am hungrier seemingly than I was before. Thoughts:? I have had one small fill. Even my doctor said it wouldn't Make a big difference

    Ok. I meant hoarse.....wow. Can't even spell!!
  8. I'm having a little of the same problem bandiista. Got my first fill yesterday. A small one. I don't feel a lot of restriction. I think I am comparing it to the post surgery swollen restriction ( that was the bomb lol! ). I had only lost a few pounds since surgery, but my doctor seemed pleased. I hope to lose a couple more this month. I guess slow and steady loss until green zone is reasonable

    What do you eat?

I haven't had a fill yet. My choices could be better at times, but even unfilled, I don't eat a big quantity. At all. In the cafeteria at work they have a hard time knowing what to charge me lol. I usually get a piece of baked chicken, a scoop of a vegetable and a small small scoop of something carby or sweet. If I want it. Honestly, it's more like half a spoon worth. In 2014, with my fill, I want to take my own lunch more, go back to exercising ( have started that lightly again ) , make even better choices, and get to my goal I have lost maybe three pounds since surgery, but I have looked at this time as healing and learning, so I'm happy . I hope that's the right attitude

    Dr. Scott Robbins -Dothan Alabama

Hi! I am about to give TMI here, but yes, I did my injections. They burn a little, but not bad. For some reason, between the surgery and lovenox, my TOM came faster. I wasn't sure whether to continue the shots or not...(this was post op). Im a big Auburn fan and Dr. Robbins is a Bama fan. I told him I was glad he wasn't operating on me when that last play of the Iron bowl was happening lol. But back to lovenox, it wasn't that bad really. a little burn. I did feel like crap the first day or two after surgery, but that is to be expected. I also am allergic to surgical glue and had a bad rash where my incisions are.....But, all in all, it was not bad. I remember being wheeled into the operating room and seeing the big lights over me....and then.......nothing untiil I woke up. I was horse when I woke up bc of the tube

I've Always Wanted To Do This!

My lucky son is getting to go to pasadena for the game....not becuase his mom can afford that kind of dough....lol....he has an aunt that spoils him. I would love to buy my brother a ticket for Christmas, but goodness gracious.....a working person can't do that. I tell you what, Zinnia, as we are reaching out goal, we'll War Eagle each other into it Have a great day! PS I am recently banded, so not losing a ton yet (no fills)....but I feel I am learning to live with the band right now. Last night, we went out to eat after my nieces Christmas play at church. I ate 1/2 a dinner salad and about 4 bites of Soup. I think I did pretty good. I need to ratchet up the exercise (I am starting to feel better now, so I can) and still continue to learn about life with the band...

    WOW

    I like it!!
  14. I kind of felt that way too. It wasn't comfortable to drink. It is most likely the swelling. However, if you don't get relief soon, please get in touch with your doctor.

    Help! Banded This Morning.

hopefully so. First couple of days I thought.....what have I done????? of course, all I wanted to do was sleep (still loopy from anesthesia). If you don't feel better by day four, I would call your doc. Also, walk....walk....around the house....every hour if you can

    Dr. Scott Robbins -Dothan Alabama

I have very positive things to say about the staff and Dr. Robbins. I do call them probably more than they do me, but I know they are busy. Plus,I only have me to think about and they have lots of folks to think about. I am supposed to go for my first fill in early January, so right now, I am in a little bit of "bandster hell", but not too bad. I had a bad allergic reaction to the surgical glue (who knew??) but otherwise I am ok.

    Wls....a Bad Name!

I am a newbie but tell people if they ask. For me, I am proud of my decision. Plus, I feel like it helps me be more accountable. Also if the asker is a person with a weight struggle, I don't want them to walk away from the conversation thinking they are yet again a failure bc they can't manage to eat small portions. I want them to understand I have help.

    Can I have milk?

My doctor wanted make sure I was eating solids 1 week post op. they are all so so different.
  22. I am healin up well, except for a nasty rash where the tape was. My surgeon knows about it, and I am just taking benadryl and topical cremes. Anybody else been through it and found a good product to use? Just wondering....will be glad when this part is over. My weight loss has "stopped", but I have been told that is normal untiil the first fill or at least you won't experience huge losses until then. I am just going to try to make good choices and not worry about that for now....got to deal with this rash first!

What Should I Tell My Boss

A lot of people in my work know. I feel that by telling people, 1. it might inspire others to try to take their health more seriously and 2. It will hold me more accountble. I don't really care if they know.
