    Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!

Wow! I haven't heard of that yet. I've seen people whose nose started running when they were full. It's crazy how much this surgery affects us.

TMI Alert. I seem to only have nausea when I need to have a bowel movement. I guess it's a good warning system, but I hope it goes away. Anyone else have this issue?

    2 week Post op Appointment

They checked my incisions, removed my drain and did bloodwork. They only did the bloodwork to see if I needed to start taking Iron now. I guess it was ok because they haven't called me. I also seen the nutritionist. She told me I can add her to Myfitnesspal and she can see how I'm doing. I worry so much that I'm doing something wrong. It's nice that she can keep an eye on me if I ask her to check it out lol. Maybe your nutritionist will also do the same thing. I have my 4 week appointment on Monday to have my gtube removed. I'm not sure what else they will do. I'll also talk to the nutritionist. .

    lean cuisine, healthy choice, etc.

They seem to see cheaper at Walmart. They also have a better selection than some of the grocery stores in my area.

    Weird Ear Symptom After Surgery?

I had gastric bypass on 1/17/14. I'm also having noise in my right ear. It sounds like whoosh whoosh whoosh. It drives me crazy! I told my Dr about it at my 2 week appointment but I wasn't hearing it then. He told me to call the office and they would setup an appointment with a ENT if it started back. It started again a few days after. I go to ENT on the 25th. I feel for you... It sucks. I just recently started putting cotton in my ear. It helps drown the sound a little. It's hard to sleep when hearing this noise constantly at times.

I haven't seen the bacon bowls. I'm surprised I haven't because I usually don't sleep in and there's nothing on tv at 4 am other than infomercials. Lol. I see my nutritionist on Monday. I've only lost a few pounds these past 2 weeks but I have noticed the inches coming off. I can feel my forearm bone now. I can also wear the small bracelet for my fitbit flex. Yay! It made me feel good when I realized that today. I thought about selling the small bracelet on eBay when I first bought it because I thought I would never wear it. Good luck with your appointment Thursday! : )

Sorry to hear you are going through this alone. Can some of your family come to you? It has to be tough going through this while your husband is deployed. It's stressful enough with the deployment. Will he be home soon? Have you checked on the forum to see if there are people here that may be close to you? Or maybe a support group for military wives? I can't imagine what you are going through. My husband was deployed for 9 months a few years ago and it took some getting use to. Take care of yourself and come in here and vent all you want. We will listen. : )

Hopefully I explain this right. Lol. It's like a feeding tube that is inserted into your old stomach. My dr does it to RNY patients. I crush my pain meds and put it in there. I can also pour liquid or protein shakes in it to help make sure I reach my daily goal. He leaves it in for 4 weeks. I also had a drain, it stayed in for 2 weeks. I've been lucky. It hasn't bothered me other than when I had it pulled too tight and it caused me to walk hunched over slightly because it was pulling. I will be glad when it's out and my stomach has healed. I miss sleeping on my stomach. : )

    Post-Op January 2014 Losers Club!

I've started setting alarms on my phone to remind me when to eat, stop drinking, start drinking. I also have a gtube. I put one shake in it in the mornings when I'm not drinking and one in the evenings when I'm not drinking. I started using the alarms today and they seem to be working for me. It's a job. I'd get to the end of the day and realize I was short also. It makes it harder too because I'm not hungry. I have to make myself eat. I'm 23 days out and still weak at times. I didn't have open RNY. I did receive 4 units of blood while in the hospital. I don't know if that affected my recovery or if I'm just a wuss. Lol. Do you change your bandage on your gtube? Maybe the tube is pulled tight? Mine has to be pulled to the 15 mark. If I pull it farther than that it pulls at my stomach and bothers me. I drink unsweetened decaf tea with about 1/3 cup of Splenda to a gallon also. It helps with just drinking water. Good luck with your dr appointment tomorrow. Hopefully he will give you good news about your weight loss. : )

Puréed seems like a hard stage. I'm on puréed also. For breakfast I scramble a egg with 2 tablespoons of cheddar cheese and a tablespoon of salsa. It's not bad. I've made egg salad with light mayo and no sugar added sweet relish. I've also had refried beans. I'm not really broadening my horizons by trying other stuff. Lol. I also have a gtube but mine will be out the 17th. I cant stand the taste of some shakes I had bought before surgery now. I use them in my gtube to help get my protein in. The premier shakes are good. They seem to be the only one I like now.

You're welcome. I'm not sure about the custard either. Lol. I don't like rice pudding so I didn't try it. I ate cottage cheese, applesauce and the Edy's Popsicles.

    February Surgeries

My surgery was Jan 17th. I spend 5 days in the hospital. I still feel weak at times. Hopefully it goes away soon.

    February Surgeries

Have you tried Premier chocolate? It's very good. I can't stand the taste of muscle milk since surgery. Have you tried Nectar? It's mixed with water and not milk.
  17. Have you felt faint anymore? I've started leaving the bathroom door open while in the shower and I don't feel faint anymore when showering. Good luck with your dr appt.

    My 600lb life

No, it doesn't seem like anyone works. Even in tonight's episode no one worked. I don't understand how they lived off of fast food if no one works.

    Scared myself

I also feel faint when showering. I feel like that also while cooking sometimes. I have to sit down at times while cooking. I told my Dr about it today and he told me to keep an eye on my blood pressure and sugar. Be safe. Congrats on the 90 lb loss!
