    Officially in Bandster Hell. Help!

That's the same day I'm getting my first fill! It's been tough! Like others have said I can eat anything and everything. Trying to stay under 1200 calories each day but there are days that I eat over and cheat. I don't beat myself up over it. Normally the next day I can recover if I'm conscious of it. Good job on the exercise by the way! I pack on protein with meats like chicken. An extra couple ounces of chicken makes me a lot fuller than a Protein shake. It's a mind game. Like others gave said spread those meals out. DRINK LOTS OF WATER!!! That is what gets me through between meals. Keep it up only about another week!

Me too within reason. I don't have any nasty side effects yet. I really need to make it to my fill. I know you're supposed to blend the meat but I thoroughly chew it to the point of applesauce consistency. It can be depressing. I understand! That's a major side effect of surgery. Hang in there and reach out to people on the forum. You're going through everything I am currently. Each day is a new start though. So you messed up today. Get up tomorrow and say I'm going to do the best I can today. Choose options that are part of your plan. Try to avoid hunger situations although I know that can be very hard to do. Sometimes it really can be hard to break through that first big barrier. That's where I'm at. I haven't lost weight since on solid and soft food. Very frustrating but I try to look at each day as an opportunity. Remember you didn't get overweight in a week and you're not going to be skinny in a week.

    Oh no! Food Stage Confusion!

That's what I feel off and on since surgery. Sometimes I feel like the world doesn't accept a banded person or the world isn't designed for us. But some days are better than others. We must have been banded at the same time. I don't have much pain but I've heard that some do have pain. It's a very individual journey. It's common to feel remorse. This is a new lifestyle and sometimes it can really suck! But I do believe things will get better. I have a few recipes for different Protein shakes if you want them. I like the chunky monkey one but there are others. If you send me your email ill send it to you. Hang in there and keep in touch. We both sound like we're in the same boat!

Understandably this is a very frustrating time! I keep going back and forth with five pounds! Going into this it seems like it'll be easier than it is since you think "oh ill have the band to help with the hunger" and now it feels like its a set up for failure. But a few pounds not lost now is better than cutting up your stomach. This is what I tell myself. It's called bandster hell for a reason. You only have two more Hang in there!

    Oh no! Food Stage Confusion!

I hear you. I had mine done on the 19th of June. I was on soft foods after a week. I am sooo hungry and the Protein shakes just don't do it for me. I've been mixing in Proteins like chicken and chewing them very well. But I feel like you. I don't feel much different than before the surgery. I have no fill so I CAN eat like before. The biggest struggle is trying to get away from the old way of living. But it's a lifestyle. Sometimes I have to enjoy a food and then try harder the next day. But I normally try to stick pretty close to the diet. Hang in there. Bandster he'll is rough. I have until August first until I have a fill.
  8. I am about 12 days post surgery. I got the go ahead to eat soft foods. Now that I'm eating soft food and chicken that is VERY well chewed I still find that I get hungry. Not crazy hungry but I can still feel like I can eat. My doctor won't do a fill for another four weeks so I'm teaching myself to eat smaller amounts. Is anyone else out there still hungry after surgery and if so how do you deal with the hunger? I'm hanging on to the weight loss since surgery but I don't want to eat too much and start gaining. Any ideas?
  9. I had my surgery last Wednesday. While most of my friends who had the surgery were out the same day i spent two days in the hospital. The biggest pain was the gas pains that don't seem to work themselves out. The best thing to do is to get up and walk as much as possible. It may hurt a little but it really helps to get the gas moving. Really the first week is the worst pain but its nothing that's impossible to deal with. Just sore. My biggest suggestion is try to take it easy for at least the first week. And if you need help and nobody's there reach out to us on the forum. Good luck with everything!
