It's going slow for me too, a little at a time. I'm told a little is good because it is healthier. Also, you need to have a -3500 calorie intake to loose just 1 lb. That can take a while. Hang in there.

I hear all of you! I lost ten lbs my first week and then 3 lbs then nothing. I went to my first check up in tears. The doctor said "We haven't even used the tool we put inside you yet." I did get a fill and I was told to cut back on the protein drinks to one a day and I'm eating 5 small meals a day. I feel so much better and I am starting to see the weight move. Nothing like the first week, but it's moving. I don't think there will be one answer for all, keep encouraging each other. We will have good weeks and bad weeks. I think we will have to keep miking things up for our body too. Our bodies are smart and we have to keep trying to stay one step ahead of it. Mix up routines, foods, exercise.

Oh mine was done on June 20th. I had a hernia repaired also. My doctor did not say anything about liquid in there, but there might be. He did say it was very tight to start with. I just got my first fill of 2 cc this past week We tried to go more, but it was too much. The first few days, I could hardly get anything down due to all the swelling. I even had to wear stretch pants because I was still swollen. Just keep trying. As you heal you will be able to drink more. I do believe you will still have success with the band no matter what your size is once the doctor finds the "sweet spot" for your band and your weight loss. Best wishes. Keep in touch! -
Just banded on July 17...

You will not be yourself for quite some time! You have to remember you just had major surgery. Sure it probably was done laproscopically, but it is major surgery. You should not lift more than 15 lbs, you should nap every day with your son if he still naps. Your diet for the next month will suck. All the vitamins will help, but as my doctor explained to me we are experiencing malnutrition for about a month in addition to recovering form surgery. Give yourself time You are not wonder woman, just a wonderful woman. Do what you can and count on your husband to help with the rest. Marriage is not 50/50 all the time. Sometimes it 90/10 or 60/40. This is one of the uneven times and you will make up for it later, and love him even more for it. Lean on him. Hang in there. You are only a few days out. Your will get stronger and stronger. In one month, you will be amazed at how much better you feel! -
The beginning of my journey....I'm supposed to drink THAT much protein!?

There was no way I could possible drink the recommended number of protein drinks right after surgery or even a month later. It's just too much. You are so swollen on the inside right now. Do your best and don't worry it will come as you heal. I highly recommend a stool softener if your doctor has not already. The protein drinks are killer in that regard. Best of luck to you! Jean -
Congratulations! Best wishes to you.

I had my first fill this week and my doctor tried 3 cc. He had me drink small sips of water too. I had terrible chest pain and he said the band was too full at this time and removed one cc or whatever amount it took until I got relief from the pain. I go back in two weeks for another fill. I hope you don't continue to have pain. I would like to know how you do with food!

Try Sub-lingual B under you tongue for 30 seconds then swallow. It doesn't taste great but works well. It's liquid.

I have felt the same way HotButterFly. I'm just over a month out and I feel a little better about the water, but I don't think it will ever be the same. Just one more thing we have to get used to. I keep a glass of water with me at all times and sip when I can. No more drinking a glass at a time.

Yes, I can't figure the weight ticker thing out either.

I can't seem to get the five protein drinks in that I was told to drink every day. On day two after surgery, I drank just two and on day three I am having my third at dinner time. I get the stuck feeling from the drinks and from water too if i sip more than one gulp at a time. It takes me about an hour to drink a cup of the protein drink. Then I am extremely full for hours. Also I have had to cut my daily pills in half because I had terrible chest paid from swallowing one of them. I'm concerned is this normal? Will I one day be able to eat food again? -
