You must be so frustrated to be so close then have this roadblock thrown up in your path! But if your anesthesiologist feels that the sleep study is necessary, there must be a good reason. It is his/her job to get you through your surgery safely, and they are acting in your best interest. Better safe than sorry. -
Hi Alicia! I am also in my early stages. I had my first appointment at True Results in Scottsdale last week and have embarked on the four month hoop jump that my insurance wants from me before approval. This is an exciting time, isn't it? I'm looking forward to seeing what the future holds, going forward. Good luck to you on your journey.

Hey everyone. I have been lurking on this site for a while but I decided to go ahead and register and say hey. I am just starting my band process. I had my first appointment at True Results in Scottsdale, today. So... Yeah. This is happening.

Thank you so much. It's funny, I half expected, once the initial euphoria began to calm to feel that touch of "buyers remorse" or fear that I was making a mistake but I have given this so much thought, researched it so thoroughly and gone back and forth in my head over it for so long that I am completely calm about my decision. -
Help please read this means the world to me

While statistics may show that banded patients lose X-number of pounds over X-amount of time, statistics don't take into account individuals. I have read a lot of blogs by a lot of banded individuals who have successfully lost and maintained 100, 200 pounds or more with a Lap Band. Any WLS is a tool, not a cure for obesity. In the end, you need to do your research, trust your instincts and make the decision that is right for you. RNY, a sleeve, a band. Don't let outside opinions influence or pressure you. It's your body, it's your decision. You will make the right one. -

Thank you. I am sure I won't be. This isn't a rash decision, I'm going in both eyes wide open. -

The mental hurdle is the biggest one. Actually stepping through the doors was easy. This is going to take some time, I have a few hops to jump through to make my insurance company happy. That's fine, I'll jump. I'll learn valuable lessons in the process. Thank you. -
