Just had my first one in 13 months. Good luck! Remember you have done it once, you can do it again! I wish my fills were free!

I went to the doctor last Tuesday and he said I may have a leak. I am supposed to go back in if I lose restriction. The first few days after a fill I feel fine with smaller amounts....THEN.....I get hungry every couple of hours and could easily eat 6 oz of meat without a problem. I can stop myself sometimes.....other times I cave in. My port is turned and the needle from the fills may have caused collateral damage. Here is my question. He told me I could go back on the Protein shakes for 1-2 weeks. If I am trying to figure out if I have restriction (satisfaction) will I be able to tell with the shakes?

I have standard. It paid 85%.

I She put about the same amount back in and told me I would be very swollen. Clear liquids on Friday, soft foods on Saturday, and back to normal by Sunday. Sunday I got stuck and PB/small vomit. I drank liquids for the rest of the day. I can now eat fish but even when I drink I feel the tightness. I suspect that I am close to green. I am not sure if I should be concerned about the tightened throat. Maybe I am there and need to figure out my new normal of eating. Any thoughts?

BCBS Federal took 2 weeks after everything was submitted.

Hang in there! Everyone seems to go through it. I had my surgery in July and then proceeded to gain all 14 lbs back. The Silver lining? Since my last fill 2 weeks ago, I have lost 9 lbs!Stay focused. You've got this!

How did your insurance handle this? I may need to have my port replaced and am afraid the insurance will not cover any. Mine covered 85% of the band surgery.

So, today I went in for a fill (my fourth). The nurse always has a little bit of trouble because my port is crooked/twisted so that the center is a little hard to find. Today, she could Not get it. I have to travel to the main office tomorrow so the doctor can do my fill. Has this happened to anyone else? Maybe I am just weird. On a side note, she apologized for the bruise I will have from today. I told her it was ok because I am not into a bikini yet and when I am, my port will not be as necessary to find. I think a little bruise to get to green may be ok :-) (We giggled over that!) Truthfully, I doubt I would ever wear a bikini because I know I will have extra skin, but I love being on here because you guys give me hope that I will be able to be healthy and thin enough to be able to!

Well I got the fill. She had to try 2 times. It made it easier for her for me to do a crunch. I did find out I definitely cannot stand when they do it. I felt like I could pass out!! That is when she had me lay back down. Thanks for your comments. I was a little nervous. Oh and I can't wait to wear the cute sundresses

My son went to Big Blue Madness last night! I during right up to my meal sometimes. I try to wait 10 minutes usually. 45 minutes wait time after. If I drink too early, I find I am hungry a little faster.......not good at all!

My blood pressure is normally 90/60. Two days ago it was 123/47. Do not know what is going on........This is the second time in 6months that it was under 50

hernia repair with band?? Anyone?
Mcrutchky replied to unbroken40's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My repair took 45 minutes longer than expected in surgery. I had more soreness from that than the WLS. I do not regret it at all though. No Tums or Prilosec at all since. Before I took Prilosec and 4-5 Tums a night. -

My goal reward system
Mcrutchky replied to stephwellman's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I have goals but no set rewards. You have me thinking now. -
My bruises (all 4) stayed around for 5 weeks. No worries.

Leftover rice is a no for me. Strange!

but still not losing. I know it has been only 6 weeks. I have not lost anything. I am playing golf(no cart)and walking. I am eating between 800-1100 calories. I know I sound whiny. I was hoping to see atleast a couple of pounds off by now. I have a bad knee and do not know what else I can do. I am careful to get my Protein in, ie. carnivore, and get very little else in. I am really hoping to see some movement at my next fill. Not moving makes me feel like I am failing. Sorry for the vent, but sometimes I have to. I don't want to vent to family/friends all the time because they ask me how much I have lost. Well, thanks for listening.

Thanks guys! I needed this encouragement today! I am going to measure tomorrow. Maybe I can see something moving over the next few weeks. That was a great idea. I am thankful to have everyone's experiences to draw on.

chocolate is good, but I have only had it once. No problems. I just am trying to avoid going down that path. Spaghetti is a food that I no longer have a craving for, even with whole grain Pasta. It is not the same to me now that I chew everything to death. Even still, it is a small price to pay.

My hernia was bigger than expected, so my surgery was 45 minutes longer than expected. The recovery from that seemed a little harder than the incisions from the band. No more medicines though! I am a month out and I feel so much better. I know the band was the way to go for me. Good luck!

I have been hungrier today than in the last month!! I hope tomorrow will be better! I know my appetite is supposed to go down but really!! ?............frustrated!

Strange........first fill today.....

Thanks for your response. I guess I was hoping to be less hungry due to swelling that I expected to happen. If only temporary :-) -
