If you take some cc's out of a band do you have to go to liquids or soft foods or can you stay on solids?

Sliming 80% of the time..too tight?

Just removed .5cc See how that goes. -
If you are sliming about 80% of the time after taking 1-2 small bites, would you consider this a sign of being to tight?

Sliming 80% of the time..too tight?

Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum. I had a fill (somewhat aggressive) about 6 weeks ago. After 2 weeks in I feel like I slime 80% of the time after 1-2 small bites. This makes me rely on going to soft/sliders/liquids. Eating Protein seems difficult. Because of this , my hunger is not being satisfied for 3-4 hours. Seems like I am getting hungry every hour & i been grazing though out the day.(making weight loss difficult) Im going back tomorrow & going to request taking out .5 cc. Maybe then I can get some protein in & have satisfied hunger for longer than an hour. Guess this is a fine tuning for the green zone. -
Got a fill last week (1.5cc) that puts me at 6.5 cc in a 14cc band. I can now definitely feel the restriction. Now when eating I have about 3-4 (small) bites or about 1/2 cup of food and I am full & satisfied for at least 4 hours. I believe I am in the green zone. What do you all think?

B-52, That is great advise….and to answer all the Q's….Yes! Any complaints…..No !

Yes I am having Protein shakes. I should have said more like a 1/2-1 cup of food instead of 3-4 small bites. (kinda depends on what I am trying to eat.) Seems like a learning curve all over again after you get tightened. After the last tightening I felt restriction then none at all a few weeks later & plateaued for 2 months. Now I feel full & if I wanted to eat another bite Im 99% sure it would come back up. It seems to be a mind over matter thing with portion size. I am making right choices, small bites & chewing. It also takes a while, minimum 20 minutes to eat a meal. Also seems like every meal I have now get cold.

Seem to be stuck on a plateau. Is this common for a lot of you? When did you notice your plateaus? Tell us what you experienced with this.

I was banded on 6/11/13 with a 14cc band. Had my 1st fill today of 4cc's. Very easy & it didnt hurt at all. The Doc told me to do liquid for 24 hours than soft food for a day & then start introducing other foods. I am happy to report that I am now 40 lbs lighter! Also lost 2 pant sizes and a shirt size! Also my blood work came back Awesome!

What is the avg cc's for a first fill? I know everyone is different but what is the avg?

I know most carbonated drinks have a lot of empty calories & no nutritional value but what is the deal with how it actually effects the band itself? Some doctors say its ok to have a carbonated drink every now and then & others say not at all? Whats the real story?

You sure can.

I am almost 8 weeks post op ,,, at my 6 week post op check up I would have about 4 oz of protein & 1 cup vegetables & feel extremely satisfied. Now i feel hungry all the time. Would this be normal? Why would this be? Do I need a fill? Im scheduled to go back the 1st week of sept. Can I get a fill before then? Kinda feel like the next few weeks would be a waste if the band was not helping. I feel like I'm now on a diet before I had the band, always hungry & starving myself. Any advise would be appreciated.

Just had my 6 week follow up. Everything is working perfect & I am ahead of schedule. No need for a fill. So it's been 4 weeks since I last saw the Doc & I been trying new/different foods to see what I can tolerate on the solid food phase. Everything I tried has been no problem, I can consume about 4-5oz of protein followed by a cup of vegetables and I am very satisfied (Not full or stuffed) for at least 4-5 hours. My average loss per week since being on solid foods is 2.5lbs. If I eat to fast or swallow to big I have a heartburn feeling that passes within in a minute, & my body tells me when to stop ( I either sigh or hiccup ). No BPing or vomiting what so ever. Can only imagine how much I'll lose when I go back to the gym! Oh, yeah....Im also sleeping better & my blood pressure went from a consistent 120/80 to 107/60 !!! I am so happy that I had this done!!!!
