Today in the shower, I ran my fingers through it and an enormous clump of hair came out in my hands plus more every time I wrung out my hair! I'm a little nervous. I hear this happens sometimes when you lose a lot of weight quickly. But I've only lost 40 pounds in 4 months. What does everyone suggest will help me with the hair lose?

I had a plateau 3 weeks after I had surgery. I lost a crazy amount of weight in those 3 weeks. Something like 25 pounds but then it just stopped! I was so frustrated because I didn't change anything and I was stuck for 5 days! I went on this site and people told me if my doctor gives me the ok, I should start slowly exercising. My doctor said it was fine so I hit the gym 4x a week for an hour and the weight started dropping again and kept dropping!

I had horrible gas for at least a week! So painful! I feel for you! Hang in there!! It gets better!

My doctor was way more strict! I was on liquids for 3 whole weeks! Then 1 week of mushy foods then FINALLY I could eat solids! I've had two fills of 1 cc each so I only have 2 ccs in my band but I'm consistently losing weight!

Hey everyone. So today I caved and ate fast food after holding out for so long. Before my head caught up with my stomach I looked down and my two tacos were already gone! I feel so disappointed with myself and I know that this is an extra 5+ hours in the gym just to get rid of it. I haven't hated myself this much in a long time. I've been so good losing 3+ pounds a week! I know I can work it off but seeing what I just did scared me. I felt I haven't seen this part of myself since before my surgery. My confidence is shattered right now.

Fell of the wagon - extremely dissapointed

Thank you everyone. When I made this post I was feeling horrible about myself so you were seeing me at my low. I understand now that everyone slips and as long as I don't go crazy I'll allow myself that taco once or twice a month. To clarify it wasn't just a taco. They were those cheesy gordita crunches from Taco Bell. So full of bad things but I feel if I'm craving the junk I'll just get a regular taco without the extra stuff or something. Thank you so much for your advice! -

Thanks lady VS. I know it's a hurdle but it just scares me that I "blacked out" and ate food. That's what I used to do before surgery. Such a scary feeling -

I got the surgery 2 1/2 months ago and went on vacation for a month so I've only had 1 fill and am getting another one in a month. I hope with more fills I won't eat that much again. But I'm fighting those cravings everyday and my stomach got the better of me. -
Fighting the cravings today! I really want that pasta!!! I'm getting sick of eating chicken and fish all day... I know it's the best but sometimes I just want the taste of that pasta

Thank you everyone. I was told I can't do strenuous exercise yet but I will continue walking and when I can ill be back in the gym! This site always makes my insecurities feel better!

Hey everyone! I got banded July 3rd and I lost 16 pounds. But now I'm stuck! I've been at 16 pounds lost for the past 5 days! I van finally eat food tomorrow! I thought I would lose much more and it's discouraging to see the scale stay in the same place. Did anyone else experience this?
-
I hope to be just like you! I'm still on the liquid diet. I've already lost 17 pounds and I'm about 2 weeks in. I'm extremely nervous to start eating food. I hear so many stories about food getting stuck constantly and I'm scared. Plus the cravings are still there! I see a commercial about a burger and fries and my mouth drools! Did you have any food getting stuck experiences?

JULY 2013 BAND BUDDIES
hollev replied to sprinkle715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey all! Banded July 3rd! I'm 17 pounds down!! Still on the liquid diet for about another week ugh. I didn't have any stitches! My surgeon glued my incisions which I thought was amazing! I had 0 bruises and my incisions almost look like nothing already! -
I know this will make me sound weak and pathetic but here it goes. I've been banded for 5 days now and I'm hating this liquid diet. I can't take anymore water, broth, protein shakes, jello!! I'm always hungry! The broth makes me feel bloated and anything makes my stomach hurt because its so empty. I don't know what to do. I'm on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and I notice I'm constantly in a bad mood. Help or advice please!

That's amazing! Good for you! I'm also scared when I have to move to solid food. I read scary stories about food getting stuck ALOT and purging and "slimeing". Was it hard for you?
-
Yes Adrienne I do sometimes if I take too big of a gulp but it doesn't last long. Maybe your band is tighter then mine
-
Thanks. And I eat chicken soup and I've strained the bits but to be honest it tastes like salty pee to me haha. And because of the salt I'm incredibly bloated after. I feel like I'm going to faint when I return to work and it makes me nervous
-
Thank you everyone! This is why I love this place! We can all support each other. Ill try with more water! Thank you again

Hey everyone! I love this app and it's given me a lot of tips. I just got my surgery on July 3rd and what I'm surprised the most about my recovery is that I'm extremely hungry and it's getting to a point where it hurts!! I'm eating plenty of jello and protein shakes and broth but no matter what my stomach keeps aching! Can anyone help me? Am I doing something wrong? I'm scared to eat too much because the band and I'm still healing. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yea my doctor said as long as I drink it it slow and in very small amounts it would be okay. But I hate the hungry feeling!
