I am looking for someone who may have experienced what I have. Lap band in 2009. Recently I had both EDG & Colonoscopy by my Gastro Dr. The results were all normal except he said I had a large paraesophageal hernia. I read about it & was concerned because that means it is close to your heart & could ultimately be dangerous. So I was sent to a general surgeon who did a barium swallow & CT of both chest & stomach. He said they did not find a hernia at all.  Yea, that's great news except now Gastro Dr says what is on the EDG is an abnormal lab band. Wouldn't the barium swallow be the better test as the gastric surgeon usually performs these? I have an Appt to go over all of this with a bariatric surgeon. But meanwhile does anyone have an opinion? Thanks much!!
