Thank u all!! It hasn't happened as bad as last night again. Just feels sore. Hoping it goes away & I'm taking it easy for a few days. Lol

Hi all! I'm 17 days post op. Never had any pain in my incisions at all. A lil soreness the first few days. Yesterday I had a very busy day & last night as I was sitting down I got a very sharp strong pain in my port site. I've been freaking out ever since. I don't want to move much bc I'm afraid it will happen again. Woke up w soreness & a mild pain that comes & goes. My port sits right where my pants sit. Could this be aggravating it? Any ideas of this is normal considering it has never hurt?

Sleeping on side
marimari15 replied to herestoanewlife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 8 days post op & have been sleeping in my side since day 4. It's actually been my most comfortable position. My back did bother me as well so I started switching to each side during the night. Also, I used a few pillows to be on a slight incline while in my side. Good luck & hope u find a comfortable position soon! -

How much could you get down?

I was also told no protein at first & just stay hydrated. I'm 6 days post op & being able to drink enough fluctuates. -
I'm also 4 days post op & have been having similar symptoms. I felt so much pressure & feeling of fullness that didnt let me get in any fluids. Finally took Gas X Strips today after I was told not to at the hospital & the relief was amazing! Called my dr to give me the ok to take the strips. Feeling sooooo much better now.

4 days post op band. So many questions
marimari15 replied to lisamase's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm at the start of day 4 post op & down 9 lbs. feeling extremely full after just a couple of sips of anything or even a couple of tastes of jello. Popsicles go down easiest but I can't even have half. I also have the pain behind my left breast which I'm sure is trapped gas. -
Drinking and really uncomfortable...
marimari15 replied to deleteme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
msapp77, I'm feeling exactly the same! Banded Friday & any time since Saturday that I try to take in fluids I feel as if I'm painfully full after just a couple of sips. It's been the most uncomfortable part of recovery for me bc I can barely get any fluids in. I'm sure swelling plays a big role. Hoping it subsides quick. VERY uncomfortable. Hope u feel better. -

It's been a long day but I made it through & I'm happy to be on the post op end of the journey now! Here's the break down of how my experience was today; Went into the OR at 8am & was woken up at 9:20am. My initial thought was how bad am I hurting & oddly I really wasn't. Of course given the effects of anesthesia I wasn't feeling much at that point. The exact feeling was as if I had eaten a huge meal to the point of being painfully full. It was very bearable. They made me sip 4oz of clear fluids per hour. First & 2nd hour was Water then 3rd was apple juice diluted then 4th was cranberry juice diluted. During the 3rd hour I started feeling gas pains but it was minor. 4th hour it was a but more intense. Still bearable. Some soreness began kicking in. Throughout that whole time I was able to urinate with no trouble. I went about 3 times before being discharged after my 4th hour of fluids. I was given Percocet for pain in pill form broken in half (2 of them) then sent on my way. I was told NOT to take Gas X strips for the gas pains which I found odd. The nurse said they rather I just walk & stick to the pain meds. Anyone else advised to not take them? Once I got home the has pain escalated as did the soreness. It felt like having an upset stomach ache. Left shoulder started hurting from the gas. Did some walking but didn't feel much relief. Had a bit of clear chicken broth without any trouble & been trying to sip water throughout. Once I felt more uncomfortable w gas pain & soreness I took my pain meds again & slept till a lil while ago. I'm pretty comfortable now & the soreness/gas feels way less. Still sipping slow & awaiting what day 2 will bring. Hope anyone reading around on what to expect right after surgery finds this info useful! Ohh, the tip I got about Chapstick was great! It was definitely needed & came in handy. Follow my progress day by day on Instagram at lapbandit_620
