txsonicguy got a reaction from DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in NSV
Right now I'm having great results on the scale - and know that it comes and goes. Just try to remember these good days on the non-loss or gain days. Started at 475 on May 24. Weighed in at 387 today. 88 pounds in 18 weeks! As good as that feels, I had an ever better feeling experience this week.
I flew out to San Diego this week and didn't have to use a seat belt extender (so used to it I own my own). Granted it was a first-class seat and maybe the belts are a bit bigger, but none the less it clicked! Was pretty damn excited!
This last fill took me to 9.3 in a 14 cc band, but it's the first fill I really can feel. I'm still eating too fast and have gotten myself into trouble including a very embarrassing projectile vomit situation at a trade show in San Diego, but I may actually be close to GREEN.
I would tell any newbies to learn NOW the importance of eating slowly, taking small bites, and learning to make good food choices. Learn it now so that when you get near the green zone and you HAVE to do those things you don't do what I did at the trade show. Pretty sure I'm not allowed back to the San Diego Convention Center anytime soon!

It was May 27 th of this year when I decided "enough is enough". I weighed in that day at 475 pounds and vowed I was done doing this to myself and my family.
Forward 10 weeks to this morning when my scale told me in that computerized voice (yes, it talks) -"399.8 pounds". There was something about hearing the number start with "3" instead of "4" that almost made me cry. Then I remembered I was a 42 year old man and not a 14 year old girl!
When my weight is on the way down, it fluctuates 2-3 pounds a day, so I may see a "4" tomorrow, but just seeing that "3" made the surgery and everything that's gone with it seem ok.
Everyone on here has been so helpful and I hope to pay-it-forward. Thanks to everyone.

Had another fill Friday, and they told me that they changed away from the two days of liquids and two days of mushies after a fill. They now wanted me to eat my regular diet. I. Was just curious if anyone else's provider had changed the protocol recently.

Why they ease us into fills. I've been frustrated that, while I've been losing weight, I've had to do it all by willpower. Pre lap-band I'm at the point where my will power loses out to Dunkin Donuts.
I had my 4th fill Friday since my June12th surgery. He gave me 2 cc's which took me to 7.8 in my 14 cc band. I definitely could feel a difference and looking at My Fitness Pal, I only had 600 calories Friday and Saturday (supposed to be at 1800) but didnt feel hungry.
Tonight I had my first really bad "stuck" episode. I was 1/3 of the way through a fat free turkey hot dog (which I eat almost every day) and I realized something was wrong. I got a stressed feeling in my chest and then this weird foamy stuff started to come back up. It lasted over an hour with a ton of that weird stuff coming up.
What I've realized is that the time leading up to this point is when I was supposed to teach myself the basics: eating SLOWLY, using a child's fork to control bite sizes, chewing up the bite well, etc.
Lesson learned. Just wish I didn't have to go through what I did tonight to figure it out.

Y'all were pretty much right. I was psyching myself out. I got 1.5 cc had to my 14cc bad for a total of 2.3 cc. Is 1.5 a typical add in amount?
The most painful part was the nurse looking for my port. For a tiny Asian woman she sure could press down on my gut!
The good news is I was down 26 from surgery and 51 from preop.
Thanks again for all the words of encouragement.

Take it as a learning experience. Old habits die hard and sometimes it takes something like this to remind us to stick to our new eating patterns.

How much is the most you know of anyone getting in one fill? They added 1.5 cc on my first fill (and had to talk her up from 1 cc) and still feel zero restriction. Only at 2.8 cc.
At that rate it's gonna take forever. Is this normal and I'm just impatient?
