  1. I had my surgery yesterday and I'm covered in that gross iodine they scrubbed me with. It's a bit sticky in some places and I want it off. Suggestions? I tried a soapy washcloth last night and it didn't work at all
  2. Hey ladies! I was banded yesterday. Feeling pretty good for the most part. Woke up today really sore, but once I started moving it was better. Drinking propel and had a few sips of broth last night. Lovin my sf Popsicles too. Some minor gas pain in my left shoulder but I've been walking a ton and its not too bad. Hope everyone else is doing ok...
  3. I'm scheduled for thurs. so you guys advise against the gas-x?
  4. I'm at the end of day two and every time I close my eyes, I see an Outback Steakhouse commercial. I really don't know that I can do this. I am allowed 1-2 Atkins shakes a day, three servings of low-fat yogurt and all the no-calorie liquids like broth, crystal light, etc. I just wish the docs were more consistent...
  5. I am a self pay and my bmi is around a 38 and I didn't get denied. My insurance paid for most of the psych eval(other than a copy) and the rest of my tests are included in my package price. I'm having my surgery done at a surgery center so it's outpatient. Good luck!
  6. I have a couple of questions. 1. How do you manage to drink all your fluids and not have to go to the bathroom a million times? 2. If the band is supposed to hold me over for about four hours, how does my doc recommended three meals a day work? I leave the house at 6:30am and get home around 6:30pm depending on my coaching schedule... 3. Any other tips?

    Fish

I live in Florida and have decent access to fresh fish. Problem is I have no clue how to cook it properly. I don't have a grill bc I live in an apartment. Suggestions?
  8. Ever seen that show, "dance moms"? That is the type of parents I deal with on a daily basis :/ lol
  9. Thanks for the advice. I agree it's better to be truthful. However, since its an elective surgery, I'm afraid people won't be quite as forgiving when I need to take it slow the first few weeks...
  10. I am a teacher and dance team coach. I will have to tell the parents of my dancers "something" bc I'm returning to coaching just four days after surgery. I don't really want to disclose what type of surgery I'm having with them. Any suggestions? Same with when school starts and I have to sign out early for follow ups with my doc. I need a story to "stick to" for nosy parents and coworkers...
