My weight struggles have been with me since I was in grade school. I had to starve myself to stay at a normal weight. Through high school and college I stayed stable but again I was starving. Once I married in my early 20's the weight started to creep up. I've dieted and exercised and lost a few pound here and there but it never lasted. The real weight started piling on after I was diagnosed with depression. I struggled for many years to find the right medications to control my depression and as I did my weight skyrocketed. Even though I never discount the help they have given me to find my new normal, I've continually berated myself for not being able to control my weight. The medications don't help, but they aren't the root of my problem. I also have fibromyalgia and it's gotten worse with the weight.

All that being said, I made the decision about 2 months ago to finally seek help. I'm not scheduled for surgery yet, but I will be soon. I feel at peace finally knowing I've made a choice to get healthy. I have big goals but I know once I get started I will be able to achieve them. I deserve to do this for myself. I've worked hard in my life and taken care of my family. [color=#ff0000]It's time to take care of me.[/color] I'm scared, nervous and excited to start this new chapter.
