Not sure what to do

I understand your dilemma and went through exactly the same as you. But with lots and lots of research, have decided to have the lap band this coming Tuesday. My reasons being...... I have met about 12 ppl with lap band, and almost all have lost lots and lots of weight and and are now in set regimes of how to comfortably eat without all those issues and loosing the weight. I only know 1 person who has the sleeve and yes she's lost all her weight with no side effects or issues. But with lots of looking into this, the problem is that the specialists don't know of the long term repercussions in case it stretches and or the person down the track gets stomach cancer and may need part of the stomach removed. As the lap band has been around a lot longer and they know the success rate and is reversible, where as the sleeve as you say is taking away part of your stomach and to me, is a lot more invasive. Good luck to you in your decision, but I do recommend doing as much research before making any decision. -

I'm on day 10 of liquid diet. In Australia we can only have 3 shakes with added water only, 1 pce fruit and 1 sml cup green veggies. 800 calories. I'm doing great with it so far, as surgery is just round the corner (Tuesday 18th) and I'm keen to succeed..... This is my motivation! Can't wait for Tuesday to come. Good luck to all of us!

Hi, just found this app..... Wish I knew about it earlier. Ok, I'm on day 10 of Pre opp diet. My surgeon only allows for 3 shakes, 1 fruit and 1 cup green veggies. This is to reduce the size of the liver to ensure that he can do key hole surgery rather than opening me up. As I stuffed myself stupid, as this was going to b the last time on my life to eat rubbish, was very concerned with how I would go on such a restrictive diet. Solution: hypnosis! 20 mins sitting in a relaxing state and listening to how i will stick to this liquid diet and will have no problems with it nor the after surgery, etc. It's been 10 days, and I've had no issues what so ever. I highly recommend it, and hoping it will also make the new transition of small amounts of food long term, easier! I can't wait for the surgery next tuesday 14 june and my new life/ body to begin!!!
