Let's lighten the mood.

Teacher here! Okay.. lets see... You were out walking the dog on a Sunday morning when you see the neighbors house being robbed. You reach for your cell when you realize that you left it at home. The neighbors weren't always nice but you remembered they had brought you over a apple pie last thanksgiving (pre band) and felt like it was the right thing to do. So you and Sponge Square Bob Pants (The Dog) jumped into action, leap frog style. You ran around to the back door and crept in.. tip toeing to ensure they didn't hear you. That's when you realize that the family is actually home and still asleep. So you sprint up the stairs (because you are super fit from the walk that morning) and go to tell Josh and JoAnne that someone is robbing the house... They took Nyquil the night before because they both had seasonal allergies. They didn't wake up. It was up to you. You grabbed little Joseph's baseball bat and went charging down the stairs. The intruder heard you coming and pulled out his only weapon... A surgical blade he stole from the hospital he was just released from for a kidney stone. A intense battle ensued. After the ordeal was over he was taken in a stretcher to the county jail and you were awarded "Best Neighbor off the Month" by the HOA and only came out with a few small stabs to the gut... in the end you are a hero, the neighbors and safe and you ended up with another pie (That you didn't even end up eating) THE END! -
As I was reading everyone's comments I was gulping down a water bottle. During my pre op I have been trying my hardest to not drink so much while I eat, but I'm infamous for it. 3-4 glasses of whatever the beverage is during my meal. Soooo I've been trying my hardest to take it slow. All in time! Best Wishes.

I've use MFP for a while now and have had the same issue. I wish there was a way to customize it more to each person. I have not used the app you are talking about but what I have been doing is just the old fashioned way, writing it down. SO MUCH WORK! hahaha I wish someone savvy with computers would make an app just for people that have had WLS so it would work only for us. One day! Let us know if you get it and how it works! X

Tattoos after weight loss
Cwalband replied to aviva1979's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey! A while back I decided to get a tattoo on my upper thigh, closer to the hip. It was a moment of weakness as something had happened in my family. When I told my artist I was going to be losing weight he told me that the skin would lose most of the Elastin and the tattoo would look different, but depending on the placement it may not change at all. I love my tattoo and I'm hoping it doesn't change much. If it does I've already spoke to him about changing it up some or doing a cover-up of something similar. I hope everything stays looking good!! -
Surgery Today !!! July 5
Cwalband replied to fashionstylist's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so excited for you! Today is the big day! Also I found out some of the same news about family unable to attend the day of surgery, I was sad as well but just keep your chin up and try and stay positive! Best Wishes! I can't wait to hear all about your experience. xx -
I sit and write this with a heavy heart. I came over to my mother's house this morning to find out that her husband had lost his job. What does this mean for me? 3 weeks before my surgery we no longer have insurance. I've been struggling and jumping through hoops the last year and a half... appeal after appeal and then I get approved and he is fired. He pays his insurance weekly so it is not the same as other monthly insurances, so my benefits are gone as of Friday. I had my pre op appointment tomorrow. I'm still in shock and so upset. I thought I was close to finally making the step to bettering myself. Currently I feel hopeless and let down. I'm going to try and stay positive but I'm not sure what else I can do. Thanks for listening guys. xx :'(

How do you handle different scales?
Cwalband replied to aviva1979's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My scale varies from the doctors about 3-4 pounds. I always weigh less on mine. I ended up going and getting a new scale at Bed Bath and Beyond. I spent like 59 but it seems pretty accurate. Hope you figure everything out! xx Best Wishes -

Lots of good info guys, I've done minimal research on the realize band and more on the lap but I do believe they are almost the same. Best wishes to you! -
Great job on the progress so far! That is what I'm worried about the most... The transition after Surgery from liquids to solids. My surgery is in 16 days!! Woo hoo! Let us know how everything goes with the fill!

Hey Elisa! I'm from the UK, but I'm currently in the US. I plan on training for the 5k race her in Texas. Glad the first fill was not as painful as you thought. I'm worried about the pain as well! Hope all is well. xx
