Afraid doctor will say NO to revision!
RAAinNH replied to JanetBP's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Hi Janet... my story sounds a lot like yours. I lost 30 pounds total with the band and regained what I had lost. I went to a new doctor last January who suggested I have the band removed. A lot people have little to no weight loss and many complications. I suffered with acid reflux for two years before I had revision surgery. I am so much happier with the sleeve. If your doctor is resistant to a revision try getting another opinion. I am so glad I did! -

I bought a box of pumpkin coffee K-cups from Dunkin Donuts. We have a Keurig coffee maker at work. I thought it would be nice to have a pumpkin latte once in a while.

Does anyone have dreams they wanted to accomplish after weight loss?
RAAinNH replied to Dj Sleevage's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First, I would like to try ziplining in the White Mountains during fall foliage! Second, I would like to take a mule trail ride in the Grand Canyon. If I survive both, I will think of more adventures! -
If you had heartburn with your band, do you have it with your sleeve?
RAAinNH replied to ribearty's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I had the lapband, I had terrible heartburn and took a ppi everyday but it didn't give me much relief. After the Sleeve surgery and 45 pounds lost, I don't have heartburn. I am still taking a ppi but my doctor will start reducing my dosage and hopefully, I won't need it anymore. I had considered having a Bypass instead of the Seeve as I was told it would eliminate my heartburn all together. I am so glad I opted for the Sleeve. -

Try reading Kaye Bailey's book the 5 day pouch test, it will help you restart your weight loss. You can purchase the book on her site. Just Google "5 day pouch test". Hang in there ... good luck! -

For extra support, try reading Kaye Bailey's 5 day pouch test. It was written for people who had gastric bypass but the same principals apply to the gastric sleeve. The book will walk you through restarting your weight loss. Just Google 5 day pouch test. Good Luck! Keep us posted! -
for those of you that had band to sleeve in 1 step
RAAinNH replied to socalfosh's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my band removed and was Sleeved during the same surgery. My band was filled at the time of the revision. For one reason or the other, the surgeon did not have the fluid removed prior to the surgery. I did have some scarring on my stomach but fortunately, the surgeon was able to work around it. -
Has anyone done band to sleeve revision SAME SURGERY?
RAAinNH replied to Poorehouse's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had my band removed and Sleeve in the same surgery. The band did scar my stomach, however, my surgeon was able to work around the scarring and my surgery was successful. It was understood when I went into surgery that the surgeon would only remove the band if there were problems. I would have had to return for Sleeve surgery at a later date. Lucky for me, everything went smoothly. -
Try mixing half of your sweetened protein powder with unflavored protein powder to cut down on the sweetness. I personally use unflavored Isopure powder and mix it with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a teaspoon each of unsweetened cocoa and instant coffee.
