Check out five day pouch test by Kaye Bailey. It's basically for gastric sleeve patients but it works for the lapband and sleeve too. Good Luck! -
Theme songs for your sleeve journey?
RAAinNH replied to Phoenix79's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow.... If you wake up and don't want to smile If it takes just a little while Open your eyes and look at the day You'll see things in a different way Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow Don't stop, it'll soon be here It'll be, better than before Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone Why not think about times to come And not about the things that you've done If your life was bad to you Just think what tomorrow will do Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow Don't stop, it'll soon be here It'll be, better than before Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone All I want is to see you smile If it takes just a little while I know you don't believe that it's true I never meant any harm to you Don't stop, thinking about tomorrow Don't stop, it'll soon be here It'll be, better than before Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone Don't you look back, don't you look back -

Why the sleeve and not gastric bypass?
RAAinNH replied to Ree's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I recommend Alex Brecher's "The BIG Book on the Gastric Sleeve" Everything You Need To Know To Lose Weight and Live Well with the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I'm reading it now, the book is packed with researched information. I bought the Kindle version through Amazon.com. -

Great thread! The fivedaypouchtest.com is a really good site. Kaye Bailey has written a book that is very helpful. -
I just started a second bariatric program to have my lap-band removed and to have Sleeve surgery. It will be a few months before I meet the surgeon. My question is how long before Sleeve surgery should I have my lap-band un-filled? I'm thinking it would be a good idea to go head and have the un-fill now to save time.

After the surgery, sure to walk as soon and as often as possible. Wear loose clothing and invest in a good pair of surgical compression stockings. Book an isle seat on the plane and get up and walk down the isle and back several times during the flight. My best wishes for a successful surgery and safe trip! -
(oops... I'm PRE-OP)

"Sigh" I'm post op... your post isn't encouraging... covering my ears... looking the other way. Just sayin'

Such a senseless tragedy.... For everyone who is hurting, physically and emotionally, may God grant you healing, peace and comfort.

All of my paper work has been sent in including my insurance approval, Psych evaluation, labs, food journal, two completed quizzes, Lapband Surgeon's notes and sleep study reports. After all the paperwork is reviewed and it's determined complete, (please, please let it be complete!) I will have my first appointment with the Nurse Practitioner and Dietitian. I need to complete two visits with each and lose 15 pounds before I meet with the Wizard of Oz also known as the Surgeon! This is quite the process! I look forward to meeting the man behind the curtain.
