  1. I was actually given a breathing meter by my Post-Op nurse. She scared my wife and told her I needed to do 4 sets of 8 each day for 10 days after the surgery to prevent me from getting pneumonia. It had a tube that I was supposed to suck on with deep breaths and when I did it pushed up a piece of plastic which measured my intake. Problem was, in the first few days, when I did this it aggravated my nausea and once I was given the Magnesium Citrate by my doctor on day 3, all the shoulder pain and problems breathing were gone. Needles to say, I didn't use it much and I am just fine. But I feel for you, until I was able to get it out, I was absolutely miserable. Hang in there.

Just banded and need answers. :)

I am not so sure that is a good thing. I called my doc 3 days post op. I was just feeling miserable. He prescribed me some Magnesium Citrate (Tastes like Sprite). He said being constipated contributes to the general soreness because all the gasses are not getting out. I took that stuff and it started working in about an hour. After several run to the toilet I was feeling immensely better.
  3. Please keep this thread going. This is a great thread. I am 1.5 weeks post op. Currently, for breakfast I have a little DanActive yogurt and I start to drink my Protein shake. It takes me a couple of hours to be able to finish my shake. Then maybe a half cup of soup for lunch and the same for dinner. I sip on Lipton Diet Green Tea drinks almost all day and I mean sip. One 16.9 Oz bottle may take me 5 hours to drink.
  4. Hi all. This is my first post. Thanks everyone for sharing their experiences. It has helped me greatly. I had procedure on 5/30/13. I am now into the Week 2 on diet schedule. I suffered sever bouts of nausea in week one which have tapered off now but are still somewhat present. Currently every time I drink my Protein shake or any Soup, about an hour later I just feel like crap, and a little nauseous and stay that way for about an hour or two. Is this normal? Does it go away? I have dwindled myself to just sipping something light all day to prevent from feeling this way. (Side note, I so want to have a real meal I almost feel depressed every time I see a Taco Bell commercial. I know its bad but it just tastes so good. I can't wait to get of this diet schedule and be able to eat some real food, if I ever can again)
